Blitzkrieg: Germans quickly trapped the Allied on the coast of France
As Allied troops massed in Northern France in preparation to advance on Germany via Belgium and Netherlands, Hitler pre-empted their plans with a new tactic called Blitzkrieg.
One of the peace offerings included a daring in person delivery by Rudolf Hess, Hitler’s second in command, to Britain via a solo flight.
Churchill captured Hess and imprisoned him for life for attempting to deliver a peace offering.
