I MADE IT TO MY 60TH BIRTHDAY! I honestly didn't think I would, but I'm NOT A QUITTER! I've been ill and almost 100% bedridden the last 2 years. After one doctors appointment after another and test after test I was finally told I'd need even more invasive tests to determine if I have ALS, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. I said ENOUGH, no more... IM GOING CAMPING! Severe pain and neurological symptoms have plagued me nonstop. After serious conversations with my youngest daughter and my bff Carla (an end of life caregiver) I decided to STOP all doctor visits, invasive tests (brain scans, MRIs, Spinal Tap etc) and GO MAKE MEMORIES CAMPING! Yes, I could continue on but all I'd hear eventually is a diagnosis of some terminal illness and what good is that hanging over your head. So I packed up my RV and boogied! First stop... living at the RIVER! Even though I could barely get out of bed, I was able to enjoy the experience and make tons of MEMORIES with my daughter and youngest grandson. Then it was off to a farm to escape wireless signals for a brief moment and now I'm enjoying living high up top the mountains with a lake just a stone throw away. It's chilly up here, the air is fresh and crisp and I'm making new MEMORIES! My health is stable but the deterioration continues. Do I have a Year, two years, five more years? Well that's up to God. For now I just do my best and smile, NO illness will strip away my JOY! One day at a time, that's truly all we have. So make it your BEST DAY! Enjoy this Look ? back at my victory in 2018!
