'Many kids are starving' | Volunteers tell heart-wrenching stories about Donbass refugees | RT Documentary
Volunteers come to help refugees from Donbass from all over Russia.
They gather supplies for them and offer help with documents and psychological assistance.
Several refugee shelters operate in Rostov-on-Don, providing people with food and medical care. Families with children who choose to rent a flat or stay with relatives also receive support.
In addition, Russia sends help to Donbass. As in 2014, white trucks entered these regions with humanitarian cargo.
In 2022 Russia accepted 1.5 million refugees.

Musicians and singers of Donbass join the militia to fight against neo-Nazism in Ukraine. 'The scariest sound is the one that a shell makes, of course. That kind of whistling,' says Victor Petenko, Donbass militia private. He used to be a musician and played the drums in the Donetsk philharmonic. On 23 February 2022, he was conscripted for military service to the Ukraine special operation in the Donbass militia ranks. His squad consisted only of musicians. Their commander decided to give them codenames according to the instruments they played. “We had ‘Violin’, ‘Double bass’, all sorts of codenames. He said to me, ‘You will be the ‘Drummer,’" recalls Victor.
Even those who weren’t drafted joined the Donbass militia as volunteers. Francois Maud d'Émé was a vocalist in the Donetsk philharmonic. He could not be conscripted into the militia because of his French citizenship. But Francois decided his duty was to protect his new home, Donetsk, and enlist. Their colleagues continue to give concerts to brighten up the routine of civilians and wounded soldiers in hospitals. Even during the heaviest shelling, they continue to play on stage. So how do these performers fit in their new roles?

The parade celebrating 105 years since Kim Il Sung’s birth is the most large-scale of late. It was the first parade to feature new types of troops - special tactical units. They are North Korean special forces whose business is to combat foreign infiltrators. The soldiers are equipped with new grenade launchers. In front of a hundred foreign journalists, new ballistic missiles able to carry nuclear weapons were paraded across Kim Il Sung Square. The main novelty and pride first shown to the public are the Pukkuksong-2 missiles, which can be launched from submarines. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has announced it will continue development in this field. Soon, North Korean missiles will be able to reach the USA’s western coast.

The film Girl Power: Hindi Style by RT Documentary is about the ‘Pink’ Gang or in Hindi, the Gulabi Gang, in India, which helps women fight for their rights and protects them from domestic abuse.
The movement's mastermind is Sampat Pal, a local hero. She started the Gulabi Gang when she was only 20 years old. She and four of her female friends beat up a man who abused his wife. Since then, the Gulabi Gang has grown to 1,100,000 members. Women who suffer domestic abuse come to Sampat Pal for advice and protection. She teaches them about women's rights and also gives classes in self-defence.
The women's rights situation in India has been dismal for decades. This is for the most part because the women have bever had access to education and, as a result, had zero chance of getting a job and becoming independent. Sampat Pal herself remembered how much she wanted to go to school like boys did when she was little. And now Sampat Pal and the Gulabi Gang want to make sure all young women in India have the right to study if they want to.
Women in India are still forced to get married at the age of 12 and have no say in any matter. As a result, they practically become the slaves of their husbands' families, and it's no wonder domestic abuse in India is so commonplace.
Sampat Pal's movement has become so popular that when people see the Gulabi Gang uniform — a pink sari and a pink stick — they know better than to mess with them. So how does she manage to make such significant changes and make people in power listen to her?

Slavery still exists around Bangladesh's brick kilns. The work is hard, monotonous labour that exploits poor people in rural parts of the country. For months on end, brickyard workers toil away, making bricks by hand, just as they did in the 19th century.
Foremen often beat the labourers and treat them as if ‘they were dogs’. Brickyard staff live in barracks and aren’t allowed to leave before the dry season ends. It’s a tough job that generates huge amounts of harmful red dust, which ruins the workers' lungs. Men, women and children of all ages work in many brickyards.
With its 160 million population, Bangladesh is undergoing a rapid urbanisation programme, causing a boom in construction, which in turn means that cheap building materials are in high demand. This is a rare glimpse inside Bangladesi brick production. Workers reveal how it feels to be a virtual slave in 2021.

About 500 babies were abducted and appropriated by Argentina's military junta in the 1970s. Childless friends of the regime, often police and military officers, adopted and raised the 'disappeared' dissidents’ children. Only decades later were the 'stolen' children able to discover the truth about their origins, thanks to a group of grandmothers who never stopped looking for them. So far, the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo recovered identities of more than 120 Argentina’s stolen children. Hear some of their tragic stories.
