This flight has been shrouded in mystery since it disintegrated on the side of a mountain killing all on board except 4 and part of many Japanese conspiracy theories. At the time of the crash an American base was near by and sent a chopper to pick up survivors and while surveying the crash scene they spotted 25 to 30 walking wounded signalling for help, but as protocol being on foreign soil the chopper had to first radio Japanese authorities and ask permission. The Japanese Military for no official reason ever given told the American's to stand down and refused them permission to pick up any survivors, so the chopper had to leave people that they were close enough to yell at, on the side of the mountain. The case gets stranger when instead of deploying rescue choppers to go to the coordinates given by the Americans, the Japanese waited a full 15 hours, making the decision that I was to late in the day to send out rescue choppers and left the survivors on the side of the mountain all night facing sub zero temperatures. In the morning when they arrived only four survivors where felt. To add to the insanity of this, because it was so cold and bodies were strewn, some just body parts across the mountain. The Japanese Military made the choice to throw all the remains together for a mass burial without ever identifying the exact number of dead and only went by the flight list. Fast forward 12 years later when Mamoru Takuma commits mass murder at an Osaka school killing 8 children, when investigators enter his home they fight a flight life preserver when they investigate its origin they find out that it is from Japanese airlines flight 123. To make things even more bizarre they find that he has been receiving therapy over the years and they find out that he says that he was on the flight and his hatred comes from the fact he was left on the mountain and that apparently he just walked down the mountain and went home.
