low voltage arc welders are surprisingly entertaining. a good balance between high voltage MOT's and extra low voltage - high amp rewound transformers.
fire danger is still a serious risk, so try out at your own risk!
If the safety police/group try and flag it, I will amplify the things they hate to a multiplier of 10!. I have a zero tolerance policy in effect.
I'm thinking I keep one for a static test with high speed video, and the other gets subjected to a simulated car fire (in winter time of course) with high speed video :D
Kudos to Danfoss Drives Australia for supplying these scrap drives for recycling.
Most were damaged by user error, power surge or other outside interference.
Definitely need to try one without the anti - implosion band!, just need a refill on the LPG and something to catch the flying glass :D
but its a great demo of how well the anti implosion band works!, the front glass was intact the whole time until I hit it and it just fell off.
