Khao Nang Phanthurat (or Panthurat) Forest Park is located in Khao Yai, Cha Am district of Petchaburi province, or just 9 kilometers from the main beach of Cha Am town.
The park is not well known and is usually very quiet on weekdays, currently, there are no entrance fees. Though the park is only 2.5 square meters in size, it offers a 3 km long trail to several viewpoints, though the trail is a bit steep and can be challenging for some people, we would recommend visiting in the morning when the temperature is not so hot.
We didn't see any sign of wildlife, but the train was fun anyhow, bring drinks & snacks, and sit down on some of the viewing ledges for a well-deserved rest.

Another one of my cycling episodes as I ride alongside the dual-track construction project, this time I am cycling from Pakchong town to Klong Khanan Chit Railway Tunnel.
Along the way I pass two railway stations, Sap Muang and Chanthuk Stations, and they hydro damn Lam Takhong. Off to the far right across the dam and up the Khao Yai Tiang hill you see a couple of wind turbines - also for electricity generating.
Weather wasn't good on this trip, it was somewhat dark & cloudy and a spot of rain, therefore not so photogenic, but for me cycling along trails like this is far more enjoyable than on a road and passing by petrol stations after petrol stations :)

Termed as a "Once In a Life Time" event, which is true because how often do you get to ride on a motorway without cars to worry about. The motorway is still under construction and it took quite a bit of negotiating by the organizers to put this together, they are talking about organizing a marathon on this same stretch later in the year.
Event brief is as follows;
Event: M6 - Motorway Ride 2022
Date: 27 February 2022
Sunrise Ride: 06.00 hrs.
Sunset Ride: 17.00 hrs.
Location: Google Map - 14.889500, 101.628948
https://goo.gl/maps/je2YQ21PVULW99pT9
I joined the Sunrise event alone because I tend to be competitive at times and I wanted to see how I stack up against other riders, especially since I'm riding a mountain bike. The Sunset ride my wife joined, which was a leisure ride with plenty of photo stops.

We visit the United Front of Thammasat (แนวร่วมธรรมศาสตร์และการชุมนุม) demonstration/protest on 19-20 September 2020 at Sanam Luang, enroute checking out police barricades whilst riding our bicycles.
This is the first time in history whereby demonstrators have called for a review of the monarchy, strictly a taboo subject, and carries a jail sentence under the draconian lese majeste law (section 112), liable to a maximum of 15 years in prison.
The former king, King Rama 9 once said that the monarch is not above the law, and not above criticism, but Thailand is a ultraconservative state with traditionalist not willing to change with the time. But those calling for change are branded unpatriotic, even traitors, by the military (the propagandist).
Anyway, this video is about cycling in Bangkok, police actions, do you think they over reacted?

Cycling up Khao Yai National Park, Thailand on my On One 4560B mountain bike. This route is a 14 kilometer from Pakchong park entrance to the visitor center at the top of the hill, the 2 lane road winds up & down, though mostly up, the mountain.
Along this route you will not see much wildlife except for a few monkeys, but sounds of birds are quite prominent.
Weather on this trip was cool, plus a bit of rain, humidity was lower then usual and this is probably what made me complete the ride in record time - 1 hour. Also I didn't stop to rest along the way like I have been doing the last couple of times, but you do see me in front of the bike half way through the video, it wasn't an intentional stop, but I stopped because I fell off my bike trying to avoid a car.
Though I have rode this climb so many times I can't remember, I still keep doing it because it's a challenge and also a "meter" of how fit or unfit I am. This video was taken 4 days after my 55th birthday, hopefully I can still keep doing this climb for another decade at least.
Some of you may find interesting, or dangerous, how close the cars are to a cyclist, this is unfortunately normal for Thailand so you need to keep your wits with you at all times, do not listen to music or have other distractions when cycling.
To get to Khao Yai from Bangkok, simply take the train or bus to Pakchong, from there you can board a regular bus from downtown Pakchong to the entrance for 40-50 Baht per person, bicycles are charged separately at 40-50 Baht.

Just about had it with the stock tires on the Brompton, so I decided to order a pair of Continental Contact Urban from Bikeinn.com.
I chose these tires because of the reviews, especially from Brilliant Bikes, (you should check out her YouTube channel), so I was intrigued. The wait for the tires to be delivered was agonizing to say the least, wait, wait, and more waiting, but finally, they arrived, and this video is about the very first day of riding.

Tire upgrade for my Birdy Bike, as I swap out the standard Schwalbe Marathons for the Schwalbe Big Apple Tires to gain in many areas such as comfort, rolling, and durability.
My bike is the Reise Muller Birdy Bike, Gloss White and Matt Black fork and rear. Upgrades include carbon mountain bike handlebars for a wider grip, and a similar riding position to my regular mountain bike, Shimano mountain bike pedals, Bontrager saddle, Cateye front & rear lights, Decathlon bell, bottle holder, and handlebar bag.
