Du Chuan Tou, Tamsui

Du Chuan Tou (i.e. the ferry pier) situated at the right riverbank of the Tamsui River in Tamsui District of New Taipei City used to be the pivot of Tamsui accesses to the vicinity as it comes to the development history of North Taiwan. Notwithstanding, the Guangdu Bridge in service has made the routes not in service except the Tamsui-Bali route. Lately, tourism has been the core of the Tamsui ferry inland navigation business operation. To cope with the governmental initiative, not only the Blue Highway route is made available but also plural ferry routes to Bali or Fisherman’s Wharf are open. The scenic spots are linked by the ferry. The reflected sunset on the river surface is a view to the tourists on the land. The sunset reflected on Mt. Guang Yin is a scene to the visitors on the ferry. This is pretty intriguing.
The Tamsui Riverbank is also known as the Gold Waterfront / Riverside.
Du Chuan Tou is the most iconic scenic spot. The ferry can contain bicycles, scooters and motorcycles, so the bikers and riders visiting Tamsui can enjoy the ferry tour as well. The Tamsui-Bali round trip takes around 10 minutes. Within 10 minutes, the visitors can enjoy the sunset of the Tamsui Riverbank, the panoramic scenery of the Guangdu Bridge and Mt. Guang Yin and the landscape of the Port of Taipei (Taipei Harbor) all at once.
