Welcome to Metal Album Warfare Fridays here on the channel and tonight we have an awesome battle of 2 black metal elites once again with Draugar From Which Hatred Grows Vs Leviathan The Tenth Sub Level Of Suicide
From Which Hatred Grows was released in 2003 on Tumult Records
The Tenth Sub Level Of Suicide was released in 2003 on Season Of Moribund Records
Now for those of you who may be unaware both of these one man black metal bands are part of the 3rd wave of USBM that came just at the end of the 2nd wave out of Norway and in fact Leviathan had demos out as early as 2000 while Draugar had demos out in 2002 and both hail from California and make extremely unsettling raw hateful black metal and in a lot of ways this stuff would be considered depressive black metal.
That’s the moniker ive always gone with when talking about these 2 elites. Now another thing im going to say here is that if you don’t like raw black metal or black metal in general then I highly doubt youre going to enjoy either of these releases or projects, however nonetheless these 2 projects are among the best in this genre and definitely offer something bleak, unsettling disturbing and downright miserable and cold but I mean this is how black metal should be am I right?
For the lineups we have
Hildolf of Draugar-All Instruments and Vocals
Wrest of Leviathan-All Instruments and Vocals

Now, what's very interesting and captivating about Darkspace's music is the fact that every album is just simply titled Darkspace- I,II,III in roman numerals. It indicates that each album is a Sequential contiuum of the last and each song is simply titled Dark 3.10, 3.11, 3.12 etc etc. Now what this means to me is that each record and track is an experience. A deep cosmic journey into the black infinite void of space and all of its intense alien mystery and wonder.
This album is NO exception to the rule as it is easily one of their heaviest and darkest albums with a strong emphasis on keyboard driven atmospheres, pulse pounding insane drumming, guitar work and bass along with a bone chilling vocal performance that sounds like an insane cry from deep space that is completely trapped in cosmic nothingness and isolation.
The layers upon layers of insturmentation and complex atmosphere here almost defy all sense of reason and logic as each texture and emotion that's being conveyed here all exist simultaneously in it's own parallel universe if you will and it sounds like it could all collapse into its own black hole where it would devour itself, much like space itself where all matter is nothing but black and cold.
Cosmic black metal has always been a fascinating sub genre of black metal to me because you always get bands that have immense depth, substance and passion. Darkspace are in my opinion the elite of cosmic black metal and the devotion and integrity to their extreme uncompromising approach to black metal is untouchable and often times unfathomable to the listener.
Each track is an experience in of itself and the atmosphere and layers of complexity as each track pulls you deeper into its cosmic void of complete hopeless nothingness. This is obviously the goal of the band and the music itself.
The keyboard work is nothing short of absolute brilliant and really serves to bring you further and further into its atmosphere of total darkness and oblivion along with the guitar, drumming, bass and vocals where all time stops and you are forced to comprehend the infinite nothingness that surrounds you, yet nothing surrounds you at the same time and that's the emotions that this album conjures up. It is truly fucking remarkable on every aspect.
Doing a track by track review would be futile with a band like Darkspace because each song is a continuation of the last in terms of direction, atmosphere and it's overall goal, yet there is tons of variation here that allow this kind of approach to work so well that it never becomes predictable or boring.
The production is also raw but it's its also clear enough that you can hear each insturment perfectly and the walls of guitar driven noise help the riffs reach a level of overwhelming emotion and atmosphere that builds and builds until you are absolutely englufed in it's intensity and black void of nothingness.
Alright so let's check out some of "Dark 3.13" right here on music of destruction.......... and guys we are back, and yes this is an absolute monster of a cosmic black metal album that every fucking fan of black metal should have in their collection along with every other Darkspace album. The final verdict for Darkspace-III is a 10/10. An absolute masterpiece.

Disembowelment, often styled as diSEMBOWELMENT, was an Australian death-doom band that formed in November 1989 featuring Renato Gallina on guitar and vocals, and Paul Mazziotta on drums. In early 1991 Jason Kells joined on lead guitar and at the end of that year the group's line-up was completed by Matthew Skarajew on bass guitar. In 1992 they issued an extended play, Dusk, on Relapse Records and followed with a studio album, Transcendence into the Peripheral, in 1993. They disbanded shortly thereafter – never having performed live. AllMusic's Eduardo Rivadavia described them as till revered in underground circles as doom-grind pioneers... remain genre classics".
So the lineup is as follows
Matthew Skarajew Bass
Paul Mazziota Drums
Jason Kells Guitar
Renato Gallina Vocals, Guitar

Alright ladies and gentleman how are you guys doing tonight? Its Tuesday July 7th 2020 and I want to welcome you to another metallic episode of Music Of Destruction. Bringing you the best in metal related content right here on youtube!
If you missed anything this week just click the I in the upper right corner of the screen and get caught up on all of my latest videos id really appreciate that! So tonight’s video is going to be a track review of a brand new addition to the Shadows of Death Records roster with “Dreams In Darkness” The Souls Pit.
Dreams In Darkness is a Gothic Black Metal group from Tucumán created in 2016. The band began as a one man project by Martín Tenebris, who was in charge of writing, creating and visual art. He recorded and played all the instruments on the album of the same name and the band's debut, which has 21 songs.
In August 2017 Martín invited Giselle Stoker to record the vocals on the new album, who joined the band permanently also as a lyricist and became the main vocalist. In March 2018, the band's second album was released independently, as a duo, entitled "Dark Silence". In this album you can see a darker vision and depressing atmospheres compared to the debut album.
At the end of 2018 Cristian Bertrand joined the guitar and drum programming.
The band made their first live performance, as a trio, in the month of November at Rock n 'Pop Tucumán studios, on the Headbanger program, at the request and insistance of Tincho Sánchez Ance, local conductor and one of the main broadcasters of the Heavy Metal in the province.
In December of the same year bassist Gabriel Nonasco joined the band, thus leaving the group with four members.
In February 2019 the band made its first live performance with the four members.
Starting in September of that year, they began recording their third album, which will be ready in mid-2020. Alright so without further ado lets listen to “The Souls Pit” By Dreams In Darkness here on music of destruction. Enjoy!!
So the track opens up with a slow distorted gothic guitar riff and some great chanting in the background. The production is quite clean for this type of metal but it works pretty damn well in my opinion. The overall atmosphere on this track is quite dark and melancholic and the drumming, bass, guitar work and vocals are very good. I also get a deep sense of emotional catharsis as well that gives the track a real sense of authentic

Welcome to album ranking Wednesdays here on the channel once again. Tonight we are going deep beneath the earth in china once again for an album ranking of one of my favorite Chinese Black Metal bands with BE PERSECUTED. Easily one of the best in the genre of Chinese DSBM and a very unique band if I do say so myself. So before we get into the ranking let me give you guys some background history on Be Persecuted
Be Persecuted are a depressive suicidal black metal band from Nanchang, Jiangxi Province,China, formed in 2005. Originally put together by former Dopamine vocalist, Zhao and guitarist/bassist Tan Chong, the band quickly recruited drummer Autism to their ranks and began writing/recording music.
In 2006, the band released their self titled demo on Pest Productions. The demo showcased an incredibly brooding style of DSBM that would bring attention onto the band from the deep underground DSBM scene in China. The style was reverb drenched and repetitive, which would become part of the band's staple sound. Untrue rumors about Zhao being female started circulating almost immediately for some reason or another, and this generated either love or hate from the small Chinese scene.
In 2007, the band followed up with their debut full length album, I.I, which showcased a more foggy, hazy sound than their demo work, and a slightly higher speed overall. Around this time the band was playing live more and more, and were becoming local heroes sorts. The band was also dropped from Pest Productions just before the release, because of Zhao's feud with members of Dopamine, who own the label. His reason for leaving Dopamine was supposedly "they refused to show commitment, and I wanted to focus only on Be Persecuted". Signing immediately to the German label No Colours records, the band put the release out and for the first time saw distribution in Europe as well as China.
In 2009, the band released their second full length album and probably most popular release, End Leaving. This album showcased more melody and an overall better production(of course maintaining the extreme lo-fi that black metal is known for
