Dr. Marcus on Western and Russian tanks in Ukraine
In this talk, Dr. Marcus Papadopoulos assessed the performance of Western tanks in Ukraine and how they compare to their Russian counterparts. Dr. Marcus commented that while American M1 Abrams, German Leopard 2, and British Challenger 2 tanks are lethal machines, they are, nonetheless, flawed in certain ways. The size and weight of the aforementioned tanks was rounded on by Dr. Marcus, who drew a comparison with the German Tiger and Panther tanks of World War Two which, he said, were also excessively large and heavy and which, consequently, limited their effectiveness. Russian tanks, by contrast, are lighter, faster, more manoeuvrable, straightforward to operate, and relatively cheap to produce, according to Dr. Marcus. Thus, Dr. Marcus said that it is those characteristics which give Russian tanks the upper-hand over their Western counterparts in Ukraine and in general.

In this interview, Dr Marcus Papadopoulos described the stance of the Western ruling elites on the war in Ukraine as constituting a profound case of cognitive dissonance. Dr Marcus said that on the one hand, the Western ruling elites describe the Ukraine war as awful, while, on the other hand, they choose not to seek a political settlement and, instead, continue to send vast amounts of weaponry to the Ukrainian Government. Furthermore, Dr Marcus said that the world is today witness to the birth of a new and enlarged Russia. He noted that since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the Russia that the world has been used to is the smallest, in geographical terms, for approximately 150 years. However, Dr Marcus contended that now the Russian Army is firmly in Ukraine, either all or most of Ukraine will eventually be absorbed into the Russian Federation. According to Dr Marcus, that will hugely enhance Russian power and will constitute an enormous counter-balance to American unilateralism on the international stage.

In this interview, Dr Marcus Papadopoulos explained that the Ukrainian Army shells civilians in the Donetsk People’s Republic and in the Lugansk People’s Republic on a routine basis, killing and maiming people of all ages there, many, of whom, hold Russian citizenship. As a result of the menace posed to Russian citizens in the Donbass, the Kremlin is constitutionally obliged to deploy the Russian Armed Forces to the region to defend the people there. Furthermore, Dr Papadopoulos asserted that a Russian military campaign in Ukraine would be greeted as one of liberation by millions of people in the central, southern, and eastern parts of the country. N.B. This interview was given prior to President Vladimir Putin’s recognition of the independence of both the DPR and LPR and the subsequent deployment of Russian forces there.
