Well howdy there folks and fellow Youtubers and welcome to another gaming video of my 100% walkthrough for Duke Nukem 3D played on the "Come Get Some" difficulty on Steam as a part of the Duke Nukem 3D 20th Anniversary World Tour Edition and in this video today I will be playing through is Episode 1, Level 5 The Abyss and this ladies and gents is the very last level of the first episode L.A. Meltdown before we all go onto the next episode Lunar Apocalypse and if I remember correctly that is in some ways a more brutal episode than this one L.A. Meltdown although that could, of course, depend on the difficulty level you are playing as I played this whole episode on the "Come Get Some" setting which is somewhere in the middle between really easy and tough no doubt.
So anyway, onto gameplay so as usual, we will be needing two color-coded keycards, one blue and the other red as like the last few maps before this one and as usual, we will need them of course to get through this level as is to be expected from any game of its type from the 90s of course. Also, as you can tell by the thumbnail of this video we are in a huge and massive desert canyon of myriad sorts, one that can get quite eerie and spooky actually as is evident by both the soundtrack on this level as well as some ambient sounds resembling Native American singing chants, which is why I love it though to be honest as it again gives it a distinctly creepy and spooky atmosphere as it also kind of reminds me of some of the songs from the soundtrack to Mortal Kombat: Mythologies Sub-Zero too and I know what you are all thinking a lot of you guys hate that game but I personally enjoy it though but hey that is just me of course. And not only do we get fire symbols and Native American symbols on this map but also pits of Lava like you would normally see in a Doom game almost.
And now let us go onto the secret areas of this map and as usual I will timestamp them in order below:
First Secret Area: 9:42
Second & Third Secret Areas: 10:40
Fourth Secret Area: 16:31
Fifth Secret Area: 17:00
Sixth Secret Area: 20:05
Seventh and last secret Area: 21:46 (Only found in the 20 Anniversary World Tour Edition!)
And that is all the secret areas for this last level of the L.A. Meltdown episode folks. Last, but not least let us quickly discuss enemies. Whelp, getting to eliminate all the enemies in this level is pretty straightforward but it can be easy to miss one or two as was demonstrated with my final practice run before recording my video for it and that is something to be aware of when you play this game. Not only that we fight a boss at this level but I won't say who that is to avoid spoiling things for you guys.
Okay there folks and fellow YouTubers I shall go ahead and let the rest of the video do the talking and remember if you like this video please hit that like button below and if you want to see more of my videos please hit that subscribes button below and I will see you all when I see you all in the next video there folks.
