LISTENING TO THE HOLY SPIRIT--LEST WE GRIEVE HIM
Jesus talked about such a strong flow of water in a spiritual sense. Lets turn there to John 7.37-38. Rivers of water is the way Jesus describes the normal life of believers, His children.
o Rivers of water would mean that when we were saved He flowed out of our lives making us joyous and thankful.
o He flowed out of our lives making us so excited about all our sins being gone.
o He flowed out of our lives so that when we read the Bible it seemed just like God was talking to us.
o He flowed out of our lives making prayer was so natural and uncluttered. It felt like the stars overhead had parted and we were walking right into Heaven before God’s Throne. We just talked and walked with the Lord through. And each day it seemed like all of life was brand new.
And that is life as God made it to be with that mighty river of water flowing out of our lives. We were refreshed, we were victorious, we were rejoicing, we were serving joyfully. The Holy Spirit was flowing through our new lives like the rivers of water that flowed in that new house of ours. That is the life of a believer as God intended it to be.
Then slowly something happened. It seemed that we didn’t find God's Word so exciting, and soon we hardly understood what we read each day. We also experienced troubles in prayer, it seemed we talked to ourselves and all those words just bounced around inside our heads.
That is exactly what happens when the water valve of our spiritual lives is twisted shut by sin. And that is what the Bible describes as Quenching and Grieving the Holy Spirit. We are let with the command to keep our lives filled with the Holy Spirit. We are to walk in Him, live through Him, bear fruit by Him, and overcome sin with Him as our Sword of the Word.
For all of our earthly life it is God’s Holy Spirit that is our lifeline for all that we need to make it. Because of this vital supply line that we share with Him we must protect our relationship. Why? Listen to Paul the great training coach of the winning lifestyle believers are to share. We must not hinder the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Seeing, Understanding, Entering, Living & Seeking the Kingdom of God
Acts 17-20
When we were born again, we become citizens of Heaven. Salvation was when we entered and began to live in the Kingdom of God, while still living here on Earth. That tension between our citizenship in Heaven, and our stay here on Earth is what so much of the New Testament is written about.
There are three truths that will transform how we look at our calling here on Earth as believers. These three truths we all need to know if we are to master the discipline of disciple-making. Here are those truths:
1. Jesus Taught that Salvation was Coming Under God’s Kingdom & Rule
2. The Apostles Taught that Salvation was Coming Under God’s Kingdom & Rule
3. Disciple-makers Understand that Salvation was Coming Under God’s Kingdom & Rule
This description of salvation unites the Four Gospels with the Book of Acts & the Epistles through the repeated message about the Kingdom of God. In the pages of Acts, salvation was presented to people living in the Roman Empire (which happens to be everywhere the New Testament was written from and to) as entering a new kingdom: God’s; and becoming the subject of a new king: Jesus; and living under a whole new way of life, which could be called: Kingdom Living.
JESUS TAUGHT THAT SALVATION WAS COMING UNDER GOD’S KINGDOM & RULE
Today, join me starting in Acts 1:1-3; and as we walk through this passage we will learn another dimension of disciple-making, which is: “Seeing, Understanding, Entering, Living & Seeking the Kingdom of God”.

Are you consciously, expectantly enjoying what Jesus is doing today?
On the first Easter morning, Mary was looking at the empty tomb and met Jesus.
She had come in sorrow and confusion. All the memories of Him flooded her mind. Jesus had loved her, forgiven her, and made her so many promises. But now Jesus seemed to be so far away, all of those things seemed distant to Mary.
Mary needed to see Jesus. That is why she was last at the Cross, and first at the Tomb. Mary came needing Him, and now would be first to see the Risen Christ. Only He could strengthen her faith and comfort her heart and that is what He did.
But that was 2,000 years ago—and it seems so long ago and so far away.
We live so distant at times from the quietness of the garden on Resurrection morning.
We live so removed from the gracious assurances that Jesus offered to Mary.
But that is only our fault, because the truth of the resurrection is that Jesus is alive. And since He is alive He is doing the same things He did then.
Did you catch that? Jesus wants us to know that He is still doing just what He did that morning, and in the days that followed. So much of His ministry was assuring the disciples of what they already knew, and encouraging them to do what He left them here to do.
This morning, will you meet again the Risen Christ?
And as you meet Him, will you see what He is doing today? That is what He wants for us--to see Him, and even, more believe Him. And then respond to His work in us through His Word.

The Supernatural Person called Satan
This powerful, supernatural person shows up all the way through the Book of Revelation. By the time we get to chapter 12 we find the most complete explanation of him that makes all the pieces fit. Turn there with me there, to Revelation 12:3-4a (NKJV), and follow along as I read what God says:
And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth.
In this verse we meet a dragon; then in the next verse (v. 4) this dragon draws a third of the angels under his control; then move on down to v. 7 and we see that there are two groups of angels Michael and the un-fallen angels of God vs. the Dragon and his fallen angels. Now, look at v. 9, which becomes like a Rosetta Stone that connects together several of the pieces of the world of Satan and his angels. Satan is the Devil, the Dragon, the Serpent, the Deceiver.
In Rev. 12:9 we see God connecting Genesis with Revelation and everything in between. Here are the key points:
1. Satan is the Dragon (think of the book of Revelation); is also:
2. Satan is the Serpent of Old (think Eve in Garden of Eden); who is also:
3. Satan is the Devil (think wilderness temptation of Christ); who is also:
4. Satan is the Wicked one (think 1 John 5); who is also
5. Satan is the Accuser of the brethren (think of the book of Job scene); who is none other than:
6. Satan; who is the fallen and twisted version of the greatest of the angels named:
7. Lucifer.
Here, in one verse God ties together the Cunning Serpent of the Garden that drew mankind into sin, with the Accuser of Job, with the Devil of Christ's Temptation, with Satan the Adversary of all that God is doing. All of these various depictions of Lucifer (Isaiah 14, Ezk. 28), fallen to become Satan the Devil, are united here in this verse. Bottom line:
Satan is Dangerous

What does the Bible have to say about marking one's body with tattoos or other modifications?
The question REALLY is--"Does God's Word guide us about having tattoos"?
Let's go to Deuteronomy 29:29, and as you turn there I want to explain to you what we're talking about. We're not talking about, if you have one tonight, this is not a--go down and get your tattoo lasered off night.
It's not about us undoing things we've done. What it's about is from this moment forward before making any further decisions on modifying our body--make sure that we have all the facts and whether or not that or anything we do pleases the Lord.
That's really what it comes down to the Apostle Paul distilled down in the New Testament.

How Did Jesus Tell Us to Apply Prophetic Studies?
Turn back again to Luke 21. When Jesus explained the entire scope of end times events, He paused and concluded with two commands in v. 36 for us who listen to Him. We can learn what Jesus said were our responsibilities as believers (Luke 21:29–38)
“Watch therefore, and pray always…” (Luke 21:36) Pray is the word for beg, implore, and beseech, it is an intense word!
Jesus revealed that all of the magnificent buildings of Herod would become rubble. . . and that nothing on earth ever lasts, but Jesus came to His disciples with an offer of something they could become a part of that never ends.

the-big-eternal-question-who-are-you
Jesus made salvation eternal life and assurance of eternal security so SIMPLE. Please stand with me as we listen to Jesus, as He sums EVERYTHING up with these words in v. 27:
John 10:27 (NKJV) My sheep, hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Salvation is so personal: we are His sheep; we can hear His voice; and the way we know we are His comes from following His voice. Think of a shepherd who speaks, and of sheep that turn their heads, listen and then start walking towards him. That is such a picture of true Christianity!
Note how open-ended that verse is. When we got saved it was because of hearing, responding to, and starting to follow: Jesus Christ the Lord, and following Christ never ends, as the Book of Revelation reminds us: we are forever His Sheep, following Him (Rev. 7:17).
FOLLOWING JESUS NOW & FOREVER
Following Christ's voice from His Word is how we were saved.
Continuing to follow His Voice heard through His Word is our source of daily assurance.
Jesus said that eternal life is all about following Him; and He summarized His entire plan for the disciples in just two words: "Follow Me" (Matthew 4:19). Those two words were what He spoke to Peter, Andrew, James and John as they fished and to Matthew as he sat at the tax office (Luke 5:27); and those two words are what He still calls for, as He walks through this world.
Jesus called Himself the "Way"; and described salvation as the beginning of a life-long journey of following Him (John 14:6). This call to a life of following needs to at times be renewed as Jesus demonstrated after His resurrection when Peter was restored to ministry as Jesus again said: "follow" Me (John 21:19).
DISCIPLES ARE TAUGHT HOW TO FOLLOW
So Christ's plan was to have close, personal "followers" who were also learners and doers of His Way. They listened and followed Him as they learned from Him how to do what He did. The book of Acts repeatedly describes the early believers as those who were "followers" of Christ Jesus, the Way.
