Let’s begin with a simple point. Senate Republicans left a Supreme Court seat vacant for more than a year for simple politics. Any argument that there’s a rush to fill Anthony Kennedy’s seat, on this view, is plainly ridiculous. But I confess I’m still taken aback by the mammoth bad faith and dishonesty of Republican Chairman Chuck Grassley’s argument in this new letter defending the majority’s conduct.
From the start, whether you or agree with her decision or not, it has been crystal clear that Sen. Feinstein kept Blasey Ford’s letter confidential because that was Blasey Ford’s request. The entirety of Grassley’s argument is based on pretending this undisputed fact simply doesn’t exist, as though Feinstein had never even made this clear when she has repeatedly.
Grassley’s argument is that there could have been an investigation if Feinstein had shared Blasey Ford’s letter in July. But now there’s simply no time. Too bad. But look at these two paragraphs specifically.
As you can see, Grassley is arguing that the committee is now essentially out of time because Feinstein respected the accuser’s desire not to have her accusation become public. He is also purportedly concerned that not respecting whistleblowers’ and victims’ desire to have their claims remain confidential will deter future whistleblowers and victims from coming forward. In other words, Grassley is arguing two contradictory sides of the same argument with the aim of saying that time for this particular alleged victim has simply run out and it’s too bad.

Subscribe to the channel at https://goo.gl/VjHw6T Washington Post editor Bob Woodard’s explosive and salacious book was released yesterday and through a series of coordinated “leaks” if you want to call them that, Woodward’s book – aptly titled “Fear” has dominated headlines in the remaining two months heading towards the 2018 midterm elections.
Full of innuendo and explosive anecdotes about the supposed lengths to which members of the Trump administration have allegedly gone to in an effort to stop President Trump from acting on what they believed were dangerous impulses, it is interesting to note that Woodward’s Watergate colleague, Carl Bernstein, was recently publically called out after helping to author a widely debunked story alleging that Michael Cohen had evidence that President Trump gave the green light for the now-infamous June 2016 Trump Tower meeting.
Known for anonymous sources and publishing what many would view as simply propaganda rather than actually reporting the news, WaPo is not known to be a particular friend to the Trump administration. WaPo reported Woodard’s book contained details of “staffers reportedly went as far as grabbing papers off the president’s desk to stop him from acting rashly. Woodward’s book was reportedly drawn from meeting notes, personal diaries and government documents given to him by administration officials, as well as hundreds of hours of interviews with administration officials and “other principals.”
Naturally, President Trump famously took Bernstein to task via social media for his lies and storytelling, referring to him as a “degenerate fool” as well as speaking of Bernstein’s own many skeletons including an alleged gambling addiction and a widely publicized divorce from ex-wife Nora Ephron. One wonders what President Trump has in store for Woodward…

Subscribe to the channel at https://goo.gl/VjHw6T U2 fans were left disappointed when their Berlin show was cancelled after Bono lost his voice.
The Irish band had played a handful of songs when the singer apologised to the crowd, saying: "I think we can't go on. It's not right for you."
Those at the Mercedes-Benz Arena were told there would be a short pause, but were later told the show was over. Bono promised another gig would be arranged.
Some fans said Bono had announced that smoke machines had affected his voice.

Judge Kavanaugh has come out swinging against the absurd and disgusting allegations that he attempted to rape and “nearly killed” a liberal, anti-Trump woman back in high school.
He is calling the allegations absolutely false and says he is willing to testify before the Senate regarding the matter.
Washington Examiner
Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Monday called a decades-old allegation of sexual misconduct “completely false” and offered to speak with the Senate Judiciary Committee about the claim.
Kavanaugh’s Monday morning statement rejecting the allegation comes after his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, spoke on the record with the Washington Post about the alleged incident that occurred during a party in the early 1980s.

To this neutral observer, the only real fault that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh seems to have to his detractors is the fact that he was appointed by President Donald Trump and not former President Barack Obama.
Now of course, if the allegations of a high school sexual assault turn out to be true, then there certainly are some concerns about Kavanaugh.
At this point in time, however, those allegations are nothing more than just that. To condemn the man for allegations before due process is antithetical to what America’s legal system was founded on.
That being said, an interesting thing happened on social media when an anti-Kavanaugh law professor, Rosa Brooks, spoke up about the entire situation.
There are several more tweets, but I felt compelled to include the most important ones.

You won’t believe what Rahm Emanuel’s last “task” will reportedly be as outgoing mayor of Chicago.
The clueless liberal, who has always placed illegals and migrants before Americans, and completely ignore the bloodshed in his city, is still ignoring the carnage, and now trying to implement mass (failed) socialism by implementing a universal income for the cities poorest residents.
Sean Hannity
Outgoing Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced his plan to “form a task force” this week to investigate the implementation of a “universal basic income” for the city’s poorest residents; a move likely to “cement his progressive legacy.”
According to Fox News, Emanuel’s program would make monthly payments for Chicago residents “without any conditions.” Initial estimates place the figure at $500 per month per family.
