Let's take a quick(-ish) look at Last Stand: The Battle For Moscow 1941-42.
This is, technically, a two player game, but it can solo really well.
Some good mechanisms in here for weather that affect movement and combat. The idea of morale damage being an unknown that can see-saw is a great idea.
