After the Voyager Probes: What NASA's Next Interstellar Mission May Look Like
NASA is getting ready to decide on whether to embark on it's next interstellar mission. It will span over 50 years and travel 1000 AU. The latest report shows a possible launch in the 2030's if NASA gives the go-ahead.
Let's meet and talk about this really cool mission!
The search for planets around other stars is heating up. So far, there are over 4,000 confirmed exoplanets. What would the Earth look like in one of these searches?
Please join our Deep Astronomy Community to find out when the next hangout will be. It is also your place to ask questions and have discussions about all things astronomy!

Finally getting a chance to review products, something I've always wanted to do. Here I'll tell you what I think of the Celestron Nexstar 5SE telescope. Is it a good first scope? Is it good for advanced amateurs?

Have you ever wondered how you can find the Andromeda Galaxy with your naked eye? It's actually not that hard and is readily visible in the Fall Night Sky.

Human beings have discovered over five thousand five hundred exoplanets. Over 80 percent of them have orbits shorter than 50 days which would place them at over twice as close to their star as Mercury is to the Sun. Some are even closer. Recent observations from TESS however have found one with an orbit of 82 days and another measured in hundreds of days.

We've reached an important milestone this week: 100,000 subscribers to the Deep Astronomy YouTube channel and to celebrate, we're going to hold our first Deep Astronomy Hangout with +Tony Darnell.
This inaugural hangout will feature +Carolyn Collins Petersen, an outstanding author and science communicator (not to mention a long time friend) who has just written a book entitled 'Astronomy 101' available on Amazon in the link below. She is also very knowledgable about Hubble (she has written a book and a planetarium show about it) and all things astronomy so our first hangout promises to be a great one, hope you can watch!
Also to help celebrate will be +Scott Lewis and +Ian O'Neill and of course YOU GUYS: Space Fans who have been with us from the very beginning.

DeepAstronomy site is undergoing a makeover: http://deepastronomy.com. Please stop by and take a look.
The James Webb Space Telescope is due to launch no earlier than September of 2016, but anticipation is high for the data and images. It is designed to look into the 'Dark Ages' of the cosmos to fill a critical gap in our observations.
