He is on Wings of the Goddess Mission 15: "Crossroads of Time". Last time, he carried out Bastok's eighth Crystal War quest, "Quelling the Storm". Now, he will work on the next Crystal War quest. Then, he will continue the Wings of the Goddess story. Heorot resumes in his Mog House in present-day Bastok. In his mailbox, he receives gil for several stacks of Wind Crystals that finally sold on the auction house. At last! Heorot heads outside. Bastok Mines (time 2:02): Heorot teleports to Bastok Markets [S] in the Gustaberg Front. Bastok Markets [S] (time 2:36): Heorot talks to Gentle Tiger at H-6/H-7. This triggers a cutscene with the Mythril Musketeers. Things are looking up for them, but there is a matter of concern. Bastok's ninth Crystal War quest, "Honor Under Fire", begins. Heorot must go with Nicolaus to help investigate the recent encounter with Darksteel Hurricane at Vunkerl Inlet. Heorot uses the Survival Guide at G-4 to teleport to Vunkerl Inlet [S] in the Derfland Front. Vunkerl Inlet [S] (time 9:55): Heorot arrives at the Survival Guide at E-7. Past the bridge at F-7, Heorot examines the ??? at F-6. This triggers a cutscene with Five Moons, Nicolaus, and Volker. They see something alarming. To the east, Heorot finds the Beastman Ensign at J-7. Examining it triggers another cutscene. Heorot and company need a Flare Grenade to flush out their quarry. Of course, it is up to Heorot to go get it. After the scene, Heorot casts Warp to return to present-day Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 20:02): Heorot enters the residential area. Mog House (time 20:47): In preparation for the coming boss battle, Heorot changes his support job to White Mage. Then, he goes back outside. Bastok Mines (time 21:14): Heorot teleports to Bastok Markets [S] in the Gustaberg Front. Bastok Markets [S] (time 21:34): At H-6/H-7, Heorot talks to Gentle Tiger again. Gentle Tiger gives him a Flare Grenade temporary key item. If Heorot needs another for this quest, he can return and talk to Gentle Tiger again. Afterwards, Heorot uses the Survival Guide at G-4 to teleport to Vunkerl Inlet [S] in the Derfland Front. Vunkerl Inlet [S] (time 23:57): Heorot arrives at the Survival Guide at E-7. At J-7, Heorot examines the Beastman Ensign. This triggers another cutscene. They have flushed out numerous Ahriman! After the scene, Heorot examines the Beastman Ensign at J-7 again. Now, they will work on the last two Ranger vocation quests. Afterwards, they will return to the Heart of Hades for a little more grinding. Kamiharumui North (time 0:28): The party resumes in the church in the Royal Capital Kamiharumui North. They take the ferry at E-3 to Kamiharumui South. Kamiharumui South (time 3:19): The party enters the Ranger Association Headquarters at G-4. Within, they talk to Mizuhiki and answer "Yes". Mizuhiki issues Quest 186: "The Trial of the Spirit", the fourth Ranger vocation quest. The prerequisites are to complete Quest 185 and to reach Ranger Level 25. A scene takes place with Spiel. The party's next objective is to defeat five Bud Brothers in the Sunset Grassland northwest of the city. The party goes outside and Zooms to the Cliff Village in the Sunset Grassland. Sunset Grassland (time 6:26): The party arrives at the Cliff Village in the southwest of the grassland. They find Bud Brothers (まだらイチョウ) just northeast of the village. There are no special conditions to defeating them, as far as I know. However, note that this is not a bad time to accumulate tension if you intend to carry out the next quest right away. The protagonist will need 75% tension to use the Ranger's Coup de Grâce in the boss battle. After a short time, the party has defeated all five Bud Brothers required. The next objective is to report to Mizuhiki at the Ranger Association Headquarters. The party Zooms back to the Royal Capital Kamiharumui South. Kamiharumui South (time 11:29): The party enters the Ranger Association Headquarters at G-4. Inside, they talk to Mizuhiki for a cutscene. Quest 186 complete! Heorot learns the Ranger's Coup de Grâce ability, Brownie Boost (妖精たちのポルカ). Brownie Boost raises each party member's attack, and defence each by one level and grants HP and MP regen. It requires 75% tension. The last Ranger vocation quest will be available from Poranpan in the Ranger Association Branch in Molinara. The party rests at the inn. Afterwards, they Zoom to the Great Molinara Forest. Great Molinara Forest (time 14:40): The party enters the Ranger Association Branch at B-8. Within, they talk to Polanpan for a cutscene with Polanpan and Spiel. Polanpan issues Quest 187: "The Forest is Alive", the fifth Ranger vocation quest. The prerequisites are to complete Quest 186 and to reach Ranger Level 30. The party's objective is to go to the Green Sanctuary and defeat the Spirit Tree of Hatred after using the Ranger's Coup de Grâce ability, Brownie Boost. After accepting the quest, the party leaves the cabin. They make their way north to the west-central section of the forest. At C-4, they enter the Green Sanctuary (緑の聖域). Green Sanctuary (time 19:00): As the party enters the Green Sanctuary, a scene takes place with the Spirit Tree of Hatred. After the scene, it is boss time against the Spirit Tree of Hatred (憎悪の精霊樹). This fiendish tree branches out with attacks that include Kazam, Leaf Slash, Kaswoosh, Kasnooze, and Weird Dance. During the battle, the protagonist must use the Ranger's Coup de Grâce ability, Brownie Boost (妖精たちのポルカ). With the buffs from this ability in effect, the party can safely finish off the tree. After the Spirit Tree of Hatred is defeated with Brownie Boost in effect, a cutscene takes place. It's a good thing we didn't leave this tree to fester until it became a major threat like Exdeath, eh? The next objective is to report to Polanpan at the Ranger Association Branch. The party Zooms back to the Great Molinara Forest. Great Molinara Forest (time 23:34): The party enters the Ranger Association Branch at B-8. Inside, they report to Polanpan. This triggers a cutscene. Quest 187 complete! The party earns the Ranger's Token (レンジャーの証), a Silver Skill Up Panel (スキルアップパネル・銀), and the Ranger Coat Book (レンジャーコートの書). Heorot learns the recipes for the Ranger Cap, the Ranger Coat Upper, and the Ranger Coat Lower. Lenos and Yugri show up for a few words. The party gets a free night's rest. He has earned a total of 154 Job Points as Red Mage. In this video, he will take a break from the Job Point grinding and will work on the Dragon Quest X collaboration event. Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He picks up a couple Merit Point upgrades. In his delivery box, he receives gil for a chunk of Eschite Ore that sold at auction. Many thanks to the buyer! Heorot heads outside to Bastok Markets. Bastok Markets (time 1:22): At the auction house, Heorot puts a Wind Cluster up for sale. He sets Home Point #1 at E-10 as his current home point. At E-10, Heorot talks to Sludge, a Slime on a box. This triggers a cutscene sequence with Sludge. Sludge explains the situation and asks for help. Heorot agrees. He must help gather up Sludge's fellow Slimes, She-Slimes, and Metal Slimes. The first step is to talk to Slime Tarou in South Gustaberg. Heorot also agrees to be teleported directly to Slime Tarou's location. There is also a scene with Horro. Horro is a sage that rides the Astoltia Ark, the train in Dragon Quest X, and he has a love of lunch boxes. South Gustaberg (time 7:20): Heorot arrives at Slime Tarou's location at J-7 near the gate to Bastok Markets. After making preparations, he talks to Slime Tarou. When Heorot asks, Tarou casts a spell on him so that he can capture the Slimes in the area. Heorot's level is restricted to Level 1, and his buffs and Trust companions are dispelled. Afterwards, Heorot battles Slimes and She-Slimes to capture them. They are scattered around the area near the gate to Bastok Markets. Slimes are worth 1 Slime Coin apiece. She-Slimes are worth 2 Slime Coins each. Occasionally, a Metal Slime spawns when a Slime or She-Slime is defeated. Metal Slimes have 4 HP, but they have very high defense and evasion and run away often. Non-critical hits on Metal Slimes, including weapon skills, will do 1 point of damage. Metal Slimes are worth 10 Slime Coins apiece. Heorot eventually gathers 110 Slime Coins, thanks to a couple of Metal Slimes. When he has finished, he talks to Slime Tatou at J-7 again. Tatou teleports him to Sludge in Bastok Markets. Bastok Markets (time 56:26): Heorot arrives in front of Sludge at E-10. He talks to Sludge. Sludge will sell him rewards in exchange for Slime Coins. Heorot picks up a Metal Slime Hat for 30 coins, a Metal Slime Shield for 20 Coins, and a Metal Slime Earring for 15 coins. This triggers another cutscene involving Sludge and Horro. They will now continue working on Colony Tau quests. The party resumes in Colony Tau. At the Canteen, they discuss the info "The Nopon are Here", which they learned in video #044. This starts the standard quest "Cultural Exchange". Immediately south of the Canteen, the party approaches Honorine and the Sadadan Bros. for a scene. The party needs to bring the Sadadan Bros. certain Levnis parts so the bros. can make a meat smoker. After the scene, the party talks to the Sadadan Bros. They hand over some Levnis parts, but they are just a little short of completion. I remember there being plenty of Levnises in Keves Castle, so the party skip travels to the Hangar, Lower: West Gate. They head down to the Hangar, Lower Level, to farm for another Levnis part. When they have what they need, they skip travel back to Colony Tau in the Pentelas Region. They talk to the Sadadan Bros. and hand over the Levnis part. This triggers an event. Next, the party must test the smoker. The party examines the Smoker. Various types of meat are acceptable, so the party puts a piece in. Another event takes place. "Cultural Exchange" complete! After the party completes the quest, they turn in Honorine of Colony Tau's Collectopaedia Card. A couple of NPCs have new dialogue. A couple of party members switch classes. At the Canteen, the party discusses the info "Food for Tau", which they learned in video #037. This starts the standard quest "Tau-Tirkin Alliance". The party talks to Rowland for some dialogue. They must collect food to give the Tirking as a peace offering. Alternatively, they can go to the Tirkins to end the alliance, but I suspect that would end in violence. So, the party will collect the food. First, they must collect 50 Green Nectarines. The party talks to Rowland for 10 Green Nectarines and Graziana for 20. The party skip travels to the Cascade Ferronis Hulk. They pay the Fabricator to make some items. It may produce some of the stuff needed for this quest. Afterwards, they skip travel to the Vista of Rhonnar. They scour this part of the forest for collectables. The needed item will have a quest marker. The party skip travels to the Sparkling Pool Camp. They check the area north of the camp and the Yellowgrove to the south for the needed items. The party skip travels to the Vista of Rhonnar. This makes an autosave, so I quit to the title screen and reload the game to reset the collectibles. The party continues the search for items near the Vista of Rhonnar and the Sparkling Pool Camp. When they have enough Green Nectarines, the next objective is 50 Tirkingrass. The party skip travels to Colony Tau. They talk to Rowland for 10 Tirkingrass and Graziana for 20. This completes the Tirkingrass requirement. The next objective is 50 Shiny Roses. The party talks to Rowland for 10 Shiny Roses and Graziana for 20. This completes the Shiny Rose requirement. The next objective is 50 Glare Aubergines. The party talks to Graziana for 20 Glare Aubergines and Rowland for 10. To find more Glare Aubergines, the party skip travels to the Watchtower and takes the rope slide to the western part of the High Maktha Wildwood. They take the rope slide to the northern part of the area, where the Tree Hollow Opening is. Glare Aubergines can appear at many spots on this northern "plateau". To get more, the party skip travels to the Vista of Rhonnar, which makes an autosave. I quit to the title screen and reload the game to reset the collectibles. The party repeats their search in the north. When they have enough Glare Aubergines, the next destination the Tirkinhold. The party returns to Colony Tau first. Then, they skip travel to the Sparkling Pool Camp. They go east and climb a couple of walls to the Tirkinhold. An event takes place when they arrive. Then, they approach the Tirking on the top level for a scene. "Tau-Tirkin Alliance" complete! The party turns in some Collectopaedia Cards. There are a Container and NPCs near the Tirking's throne.
