Let’s take a look at some tips to get you started. Tip 1. Research before your record. Know what you want to talk about and take some time to write out your basic talking points/script. Remember, the story is one of the most important things that keep people watching your videos. So in a nutshell, know what it is you want your video to be about. Keep it clear and simple. Know what shots you want to capture. Basic Checklist: Is your phone charged? Do i have enough space on my phone? Do I need any props? Is the phone lens clean? Tip 2. Find a quiet place to film. Good sound makes a great video, there is nothing worse than having the background noise override your narrative. *Top Tip, put your phone on do not disturb to avoid getting message tones or phone calls during the filming of your video. Tips 3. Find good lighting. The easiest and best lighting is natural light from the sun, use this and sit in front of a window. The light should be on your face or subject that you are filming. If you can only film at night use a side lamp with a piece of tissue to diffuse the light. There is nothing wrong with doing some DIY to get better lighting. Tip 4. Stabilize your video, You can use pegs, elastic bands and a broomstick as a tripod if you need to. Get creative, all we want is the video to be level and stable. Tip 5. Hit Record, take a breath and talk to the camera. Have a conversation with the audience, look directly into the lens, especially if you are using selfie mode, People will see you looking at the screen versus when you looking into the lens.
