FINDING IT HARD TO STICK TO SPIRITUAL PRACTICE? / One of the ways we allow ourselves to get knocked off our path is by letting distraction or boredom keep us from the simple, effective practices we've already learned - THIS IS A SABOTAGE ROUTINE. The closer you get to something that is true, the essence of a teaching or method, the simpler it is. The technique is simple. Clear your space. Watch your mind. Feel your breath. Simple. But you get bored. The simpler it is, the easier it is, the more bored you get. This is the Program protecting itself. So, what will you do? It’s common at this point to start seeking again. Just when you were so close to finding, you throw yourself back into seeking. The Program definitely wants to get you back into the theory of the thing, and not the practice. So off you go to read some more obscure ancient texts, find another teacher, contemplate some mystery. The Eternal Seeker. The pinnacle of success for the Program. If you're trying to loosen the grip of the Programs over your mind, you have to be aware that the Programs are self-protective, and they understand how your mind works better than you do. It's so easy to knock you off your game if you're not even aware of what's going on. Are you able to choose your perspective? We’re thrust into this human vehicle at birth without any kind of manual on how to operate it. It’s never too late to learn. Your mind isn’t the enemy. It’s just a tool you haven’t learned to use. The solution is available to you, but it’s war. It’s war with the programs…not, I’ll give this a try for a week. The programs know this is life or death. Unless you do as well, and play it that way, and play to win, you’ll lose. Once again reaching for that golden ring of enlightenment to remove your self made drama. Which is just a clever way of getting out of actually doing the work to get control over yourself and stop creating these dramas. I’m not sure how to make this clearer to you. You want to stop being at the mercy of your programs, but you don’t want to do the work to deprogram yourself. Enlightenment is your distraction, delusion. It’s not to say your entire interest in enlightenment is driven by this motive, but in all the instances in which you feel enlightenment is some kind of solution to being out of control, or a solution to the problem of “you”…this is the motive behind it. Invoke the rebel in yourself! The one who will not lie down for a swarm of mind parasites. Do you have a rebel version of yourself? A You that will stubbornly resist being controlled?
