From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/concrete-tips.html - Building on the last video, here are three more tips for working with concrete. As you learned previously, hydration is incredibly important to the quality and strength of your finished concrete and in this video you learn about the importance of starting early and protecting your setting concrete from direct sun and midday heat. Learn about SSD, saturated surface dry conditions, which is the ground preparation you need before pouring your new concrete, again to protect the hydration levels. Finally, you learn about wet curing, again related to maintaining optimal hydration levels in the curing concrete.
From http://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/pump-replacement.html - It is very important to know the maximum design flow rate of your current swimming pool filter if you are shopping for a new pool pump. Pool filters are most likely the largest flow restriction in your system. If the new pool pump is too powerful for the filter you will overdrive the pump motor and potentially damage it. So find out the maximum design flow rate of your pool filter before choosing a new pool pump.

http://www.SwimmingPoolSteve.com - In this video Steve explains what pool coping is and what the difference between vinyl liner pool coping and concrete pool coping.
Vinyl liner pool coping is a coping track made from PVC or aluminum that you install the liner bead into. The coping track is what holds the liner in place at the top of the pool wall.
In a concrete pool coping refers to the area of pool deck directly over top of the pool wall. This would usually be about 12" wide. The reason a concrete pool needs a coping in this area is that the deck are overtop of the pool wall will move at a different rate than then deck overtop of the surrounding pool area.

From http://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/go-vs.html - See an example of how a variable speed swimming pool pump running 24 hours per day will save money and electricity. This example uses a 1.5 HP variable speed pump (240 volt) running at 1000 RPM which moves 29 gallons per minute in this plumbing system. The low speed and flow rate uses much less power and still moves a substantial amount of water through the filtration system. A digital flow meter and external wattage meter are used for measuring flow rate and electrical consumption.
