This is just like a basic squat, but with one foot elevated on a box, step or sturdy surface. To begin, place one foot on an elevated surface and the opposite leg out to the side, with your toe slightly turned out and arms clasped in front of your chest. Lower down into a squat, then use your foot that is planted on the ground to drive yourself back up to the starting position and repeat. Halfway through the desired number of reps, switch legs to perform squats with the opposite foot in the elevated position.
