Health Secretary Matt Hancock yesterday announced severe penalties for those not complying with the new border quarantine arrangements, including a 10 year prison term for lying about where you have travelled from. How much further can these draconian measures go before the public relent?

This time next week the local elections are taking place so in this episode I present my take on how the election campaign can be used as a springboard for change.
I will open by discussing how the pandemic has impacted democracy and whether the principles of liberal democracy can be restored.

I have extensively covered the limitations of PCR testing on this podcast as a sole means of diagnosis and quantifying the impact of the virus.
In this episode I share insights from a new scientific paper which sheds further doubt on the case infection data and associated metrics.

Once a Marxist, now a fully paid-up libertarian and peer of the realm, my guest today is no stranger to controversy.
Claire Fox — Baroness Fox of Buckley — was for 20 years a member of the Revolutionary Communist Party and became something of a media star on the back of the group’s hugely unpopular and uncompromising position on the Provisional IRA.
She’s never exactly apologised — attracting fresh flak on her appointment to the Lords last year — and she also rattled the bars of the Establishment cage when in 2019 she stood for Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party in the European elections, ending up as a list MEP in the process.
Never one to keep her counsel, she’s already spoken in the Lords multiple times and brings her overarching belief in freedom of choice to all aspects of the Covid debate — including the care home mandate and vaccination passports.
Join me at 5pm when I’ll be exploring all of this with Claire — who’s also the director of the Academy of Ideas — and finding out more about the journey that’s led to her peerage, whether there is even any longer a role for the Lords given this Government’s ill-disguised disdain for democracy, and how she believes all of this will play out.

Many doctors enter the medical profession to help improve the health and wellbeing of their patients.
This is certainly true of our guest tonight, Dr Peter Chan, who has spent the past 12 years as a GP focused on improving the overall wellbeing of his patients.
However, during his time as a GP he has been exposed to a world of health politics and a reductionistic and protocol driven approach to healthcare which he believes is at best ineffective, and at worst detrimental to the overall wellbeing of patients.
This has reached new lows over the past two years where people continue to suffer terribly through appalling public service management and diabolical access to health and care services.
Like many others, Dr Chan could have never imagined our society could regress so rapidly as it has done in 2020 & 2021 where a series of unethical and incomprehensible policies and mandates have degraded our society into a world of suffering and chaos.
Dr Chan believes that now is not the time to stay low and keep out of trouble. Now is the time to STAND UP and fight for what we treasure before it is too late.
Tune in LIVE at 17:00 UK time where we will discuss:
- What can be learned from the struggles on the frontline over the past two years
- How healthcare services can be improved in the future
- How a holistic approach to healthcare can treat the root cause of illness improve wellbeing.
- How you the principles of functional medicine can help you to to stay well now and in the future.

A year down the line, and it’s our children who are arguably suffering the most as a result of action taken under the Coronavirus Act 2020.
Lockdowns, school closures, and now the tyranny of coerced mask-wearing for secondary students along with testing and social distancing across all ages has hugely negative implications for the long-term physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the next generation.
For those young people facing abuse — either personally or as witnesses to domestic violence — the situation has been particularly grave with school staff unable to identify those at risk during homeschooling and access to wider care services widely curtailed under the Act.
It may be impossible to ever fully measure the developmental damage done to our young people and this is why we need to fight for the repeal of all measures in the Act restricting their basic human rights.
Our guest today is Liz Cole from parents’ group UsForThem which is campaigning for a return to normality for children across the UK.
Among questions we will be exploring with Liz are…
- Just how deeply are our children suffering?
- What can we do to challenge the policymakers?
- How can parents fight back at local level?
Join us at 12:00 as part of our Coronavirus Act series for this important discussion about securing a better future for our children.

Why does the response to Covid seem perfectly calibrated to create maximum division and disagreement?
Why are some people seemingly hypnotised by the narrative and unwilling to enter into logical debate?
Over the past 2 years the response to covid-19 has polarised society; whether it’s our views on the virus, masks, lockdowns or vaccines, we have seen the world divided and barriers to rational conversation have arisen between us.
Is this polarisation by design or a product of the way in which the media triggers our biases and distorts our perception of reality?
To help unpack these questions we are joined by David Charalambous, a Behavioural Analyst, who has conducted an extensive investigation into how and why individual and collective conversations around covid-19 have become increasingly polarised throughout the pandemic.
We explore how the emerging cancel culture, identity politics, behavioural science, psychology, mass formation and the role that the various forms of bias can play in widening the gap between us.
Tune in LIVE at 20.00 UK time to find out how we can begin to have meaningful discussion about the issues at hand and start to heal the fractures within society.

As we begin the final countdown to Thursday’s elections, it’s clear that our traditional concept of what makes for democracy has taken a hammering over the past year.
With no viable parliamentary opposition to the Government’s raft of measures designed — ostensibly on public health grounds — to curtail many of our basic freedoms, more and more people are looking outside the system to start creating a grass roots alternative.
Among those at the forefront of this movement is Peter Macfadyen, founder of Flatpack Democracy which since 2013 has shown that, by standing as local independent councillors working closely together, it really is possible for people to create more equitable communities.
Peter — whose background is a lifetime spent in social justice campaigning — spent eight years as a town councillor in Somerset after founding Independents for Frome. He went on to write two Flatpack Democracy ‘how-to’ books and help others across the UK follow in his footsteps.
Join me at 5pm today @ 17:00 UK time, when I’ll be finding out how Flatpack Democracy works in practice and what wider changes Peter believes we need to recalibrate the balance of power.
