The High Court in Jinja has restrained Sheikh Shaban Mubaje from calling himself the legitimate Mufti of Uganda.
An argument raised by Counsel Erias Luyimbaazi Nalukoola, the attention of Court was drawn to the orders that were directed by Hon Lady Justice Alexandra Nkonge Rugadya.
The Acting Principal Judge on the 22nd December 2023 said Sheikh Mubaje had been already retired in Public interest by the General Assembly that sat on the16th / 17th December 2023 and subsequently His Eminence Sheikh Abdallah Ssemambo was sworn in by the UMSC General Assembly as the Acting Mufti of Uganda. Logically, this is the status quo that was ordered by Court.

Prime minister Robinah Nabbanja has expressed concern on the increasing road carnage in the country that has claimed thousands of lives.
According to the latest traffic report over 3,000 fatal accidents are recorded on a monthly basis in the country.
Nabbanja made the remarks this evening at the burial of Late Godfrey Walakira, in Kamusense village Nkooko, town council Kakumiro district.
Walakira, a paternal uncle to the Prime Minister, died as a result of a road accident after being knocked by a speeding motor cycle when he was tethering his cows in May this year.
