Recently at very short notice, we took a 1 week vacation to the Gold Coast. We decided to fill our days full of some fun activities and visit the theme parks during the day and in the evening follow that up with whatever other activities we could find. The first day we had nothing specifically planned so after arriving and settling in at our resort, we went down to Surfers Paradise and looked at some of the attractions there. One of the things I find myself doing sometimes is pondering certain questions. I've always wanted to dive Antarctica. The place holds a fascination to me. I think it would be fascinating to explore the place particularly when there are so few unexplored places on Earth. However, when I overlap my interest in exploration, with my interest in the space program and it's accomplishments, I struggle to reconcile that there appears to be a lack of decent satellite images of this most mysterious continent. I've decided to start a second channel which is more of a Vlog. The content will be more 'raw' and less refined than what I upload to the main 'Oz in Pictures' Channel. This makes them more suitable to being edited and uploaded on the go when I'm out and about. I intend to do them on lots of different things. Of particular interest may be different activities that I enjoy or am trying for the first time. Or places that I visit and think others might be interested in. I might do them anywhere but in the coming years I expect to focus particularly on things in my home state of South Australia which I think is a wonderful place to live. So, at times it might seem a bit like a travel Vlog. However, I'm not putting any hard and fast rules in place for this Vlog so anything that comes to mind could well go up on this channel when I want to have a bit of a chat to anyone who wants to listen. You can effectively be my bartender (if you are familiar with the analogy)! This has come about at a time where many people are struggling with a rather full emotional bucket due to all the stress people have gone through in recent times. Hopefully I can encourage people to get out and about and do positive things to bring back some enjoyment to their lives. Appropriately this first episode focuses on the concept of 'Emotional Bucket' and how we keep it from overflowing (and even empty it a bit) by some of the activities we do? To finish off my series on basic content creation I thought I would do a video on how to make a video on a Smartphone using Apps that you can download. This is what I use to do raw 'Vlog Style' videos when I am out and about and with a bit of work (if you want to) you can actually polish them to a level beyond that to be pretty good. I talk briefly about some of the different editors and then show you specifically how I use VN Video Editor to put something together in just a few minutes. Like everything, you get out what you put in so if you want to work on the finer details there are plenty of tools to help you do that. This is merely a brief introduction to get you started like the other videos in this series. Lastly, I will introduce you to another app called PixelLab which can be used to create thumbnail images to help your video stand out.
