Les feux de forêt ont ravagé plusieurs états du Midwest étasunien alors que des vents exceptionnellement puissants ont frappé les États de l'Illinois et de New York. Une féroce tempête s'est abattue sur l'île de Madagascar dans l'Océan Indien, tout comme sur le Brésil, la Nouvelle-Zélande et la France. De graves inondations ont touché plusieurs régions du globe dont la plus grande victime fut le Pérou, où des dizaines de personnes sont mortes et des centaines de milliers d'autres ont perdu leurs foyers. Avec d'inhabituels raz de marée voguant de l'Iran à l'Afrique du Sud, d'étranges explosions au « gaz » au Royaume-Uni et des fuites de gaz de méthane en Russie, sans parler de la neige au large des côtes de l'Afrique et des éclairs qui ont pointé leur foudre sur des voitures, le mois de mars a été un mois assez intense pour la grosse boule bleue et ses habitants. Lipanj je bio pravi 'udarni' mjesec u smislu klimatskog kaosa širom svijeta. Doslovne 'zavjese kiše' zabilježene su u mnogim različitim područjima u kojima su izazvale rasprostranjene poplave i smrtonosna klizišta, a zabilježeni su i impresivni silazni izboji kiše, ozbiljno velika tuča i nesezonske snježne padaline.
