Every wonder how to make chicken ala king from scratch? I'll show you how I make it. Chicken Ala King is a cheap and easy meal and can be adjusted to suit your family's taste buds. And with thanksgiving and Christmas just right around the corner, this is a great recipe to use that leftover turkey too. With winter approaching it can be added to your menu rotation to keep those bellies nice and warm. It's somewhat of a comfort food for us here on Abundant Acres Homestead. And bonus we grew the carrots ourselves! You don't have to be a great chef to cook a great meal at home. We have compiled all our recipes into one "How to Cook" playlist. Most, if not all our recipes will be simple, cheap and easy to follow. Many of the ingredients that we'll be using we have grown or harvested here on Abundant Acres Homestead. Chicken Ala King is so versatile it can be served over biscuits, potatoes, pasta or rice. And it only takes about 20 minutes. RECIPE: In large pan melt 1 stick of butter over medium high heat add 3 chicken breasts cut into bite sized pieces (or leftover chicken/turkey) add about 3 c frozen carrots (add with other veggies if not frozen) season to taste but dont over season (i used 2 heaping tsp. garlic and 3/4 tsp black pepper) whisk in approximate 1/2 cup of flour until flour is absorbed into the liquids gradually whisk in chicken broth ( i used about 3 cups) bring to a boil stirring constantly add 1 can of drained peas and 1 medium onion chopped (also add other veggies here as well) season to taste (i added black pepper and thyme) Serve over biscuits, rice, pasta, potatoes...if using instant rice it can be added straight to the chicken ala king as it boils OR add instant rice, cover and simmer until rice is done. #chickenalaking #cookingfromscratch #chickenrecipes For years we enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, gathering eggs, raising pigs and enjoying our land.
