Royal Enfield Classic 500 Tyre Change Without Tyre Machine
I needed a new rear tyre for the Classic 500. The one on it was from the previous owner, who unfortunately (probably the shop that he got to do it) put it on in reverse direction. This is not really a big deal, but I found that the tyre wore out within 5000 kms. I suspect the belts and insides unwound themselves over time with the forces being placed on them in the wrong direction. That's why, while it is a bi-directional tyre, there are arrows on it to suggest which way to put it on based on if it's the front or rear.

I also gave the rim a good clean. I didn't have to balance the tyre. The rear isn't really as important as the front, and the tyre was pretty well balanced after a test ride. no issues at all. No wobbles, no vibration. Good enough for me.

Changing a tyre without a machine is possible. I was fortunate enough to be taught how to by my head mechanic when I was an apprentice. However, I only ever did it on smaller tyres like this or off-road tyres. It's still challenging.
