Useful English adjectives are a great way to add more context to the subjects in your sentences. English adjectives are useful and learning them can be easy. Use the steps listed below to memorize words quickly.
Here are FOUR science-backed tips to help you out:
How to remember new vocabulary words:
1. Watch this video to learn an approximate definition of the word and learn correct pronunciation.
2. Embed the sound of the word into your brain (our course at www.nootrl.com will make this part a lot easier) and then speak it at least 10 times out loud to yourself, make yourself familiar with it. Speak the word slowly and then speed up gradually.
3. Look up the definitions of the word and translate the meaning into your own language and experiences. Think of ways that you would use this word in your native language.
4. Find someone who doesn't know the word you're focusing on and tell them a story about the word. Both you and your partner can learn English words through story. This step accomplishes two things. First, you will repeat the word many times which strengthens your brain's ability to remember the way it sounds. And second, it gives your brain a starting point to recall the word the next time you need to use it.
The 3000 words that are covered in this series are the 3000 most commonly used words in English. We've broken them down into ~20 word videos. By the end of this series, you'll learn all of the most useful English words.

What is a diphthong and does English use diphthongs? A diphthong is a combination of two stagnant vowels sounds and English uses many different diphthongs.
In order to fully understand and achieve English proficiency, you must first master all of the individual sounds of English. While every language uses vowel sounds, not every language uses diphthongs so this may be a functional language skill you need to learn.

the living dictionary project is a crowd-sourced dictionary that serves two purposes. First, it gives everyone around the world an opportunity to document their own unique understanding of words thus decentralizing what is typically a process only set by a few people.
Second, by working through the lens of word meanings it gives those living in this time period the opportunity to ensure that future generations understand the context of the history that is being lived right now, as we ourselves understand it today.
Too many times in history the narrative and experience of our ancestors has been shaped to fit the narrow agendas of those with the power to shape public understanding. This manipulation is mainly achieved through subjective changes to word definitions. If we don't properly understand the historical context of word uses, we will misunderstand history and it's lessons. Before the internet, the only way we had to pass on these lessons and wisdom was at first oral traditions, and much more recently, writing and inscriptions. But because language is constantly changing, the “game of telephone” has meant that the subjectivity of the words used in those oral traditions and writings are always debatable. Regardless of whether or not it's truthful to the historical context.
The purpose of the living dictionary is not to standardize word definitions, nor to standardize pronunciation. It’s not even to focus solely on English. The purpose of the living dictionary is to ensure that our descendants have the ability to witness our lives, learn from our mistakes, and understand our triumphs. This can only be done if we fully document all of the contexts of word definitions.
To accomplish this large undertaking, we have devised a way to use current social media platforms to store and decentralize these word documentations. These are the steps to using the living dictionary:
1. Weekly podcast where we (Billy and Kim) select four words. Each word is broken down to its roots (if applicable) and we discuss the ways that the word has evolved over time and the ways it is currently being used. We then document our own understanding of the words.
2. You document your understanding of the words designated in the podcast and add any historical context we may have missed. You do this by text, video, pictures, music, art, dance, poetry, and/or any way you can think of to add context to the way you understand the words. Then post this information on any platform that is available to you.
3. This is the most important part: you hashtag your documentation. At their core, hashtags are a tool for organizing data. By using the hashtags (which are listed below) it allows others to sift through the data and see/read/hear the individual words. If you would like
