Serious Sam Next Encounter PS2 online level showoff part 2
Here's part 2 of my online level showoff.
I'd love to show you how it plays online, but no one plays this game online. I guess it's because there is no mic support, but it does support a USB keyboard.
PS2 online gamers should check it out. It's got the old Quake deathmatch feel to it, and would be pretty fun to play.
For those of you who want to know how many people are playing click this link:
Not an exhaustive list. I do not own every retro compilation on the PS2, but I do own quite a few. I love retro compilations, I'm always a sucker for them, and the 6th gen had, possibly, the best retro compilations in gaming history. So many great compilations on the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube.
NOTE: I apologize for some of the visual and sound glitches in this video, my editing software sucks, and puts glitches in my videos sometimes for no good reason. The glitches weren't in the original footage. Also, I have an old camera, but it works well enough for me. It's not the best quality.

When I first purchased The God of War Origins Collection on the PS3, the kid at Gamestop accidentally put the God of War 1&2 collection in the case, and I didn't catch it till I finally got around to playing it, months later. It was too late to exchange it.
I just got this in the mail today, and this is my first time playing the PSP GoW games. I've still yet to pick up a PSP, and never got to enjoy them on that system. That's why I am glad that Sony later brought them to the PS3. I'm pretty sure I now own a complete God of War collection on the PS3, Ascention, and both collections, and GoW 3. Granted, I could have just picked up the Saga collection, but I already owned a few of them.
This is my second run through this level, my first run muted the sound for some reason, and I must say that if you like classic GoW, this is a fantastic collection to pick up. Now that I own the entire collection of pre-Gow (2018) games, I can say they are great games, but the series definitely needed a change after 6 similar games.
I was a reluctant later-comer fan of Gow, but I have grown to really enjoy the series, even if I still hate QTE's in action games. I've learned to accept them in GoW, but still hate them in almost every other game outside of Shenmue. I think it's time for devs to innovate and just move on from QTE's in any action games.

This is some gameplay footage of Golden Axe Warrior which was a Master System game, but I'm playing it via Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on the PS3.
This one is a pretty blatant rip-off of the original Zelda. I mean from the look, to the gameplay it's pretty much Zelda. That doesn't mean, by any means, this is a bad game, because it's not. There have been quite a few blatant Zelda rip-offs over the years, and this is just one of the many.
It's a fun, and tough game, like the original Zelda, and if you were one of the few who had a Master System instead of an NES, this would have been a great alternative to Zelda. I'm betting there are Master System fans out there who may even prefer it to Zelda.
This is just one of the many great reasons to buy Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (or Mega Drive depending on where you live), because, aside from the many great Genesis games, you can also unlock other games like Space Harrier, Altered Beast Arcade, Shinobi Arcade, the Original Phantasy Star, and more.
The original Master System version of this game alone will run you anywhere from $30-$50.

Had a bit of a Hardware Failure on my Windows XP rig, so I am literally using a capture card I found at a local thrift store to record this footage. Some Honestech VHS to DVD. My old Capture card is a good old Dazzle which captures retro footage in much better quality. I apologize for the degraded quality and visual glitches in the footage.
Other than that, I swapped jobs, and shut off all my non-essential bills until I get a better idea of what I can afford, so I am currently without internet at my place. How then are you able to watch this video? Magic!

For someone who owns 400 PS2 games, there are still two important ones that I have yet to pick up (a few more than 2 actually), despite owning Beautiful Katamari on the Xbox 360, I have still yet to pick up the first two Katamari games on the PS2. I've wanted both for years, I just never got around to picking them up, only playing one of them via a demo disk.
So I was browsing Steam after picking up a Steam card one day, Bought me some Duke 3d, Bought me some Doom Eternal, and when browsing for something different, *Boom* I found, and then bought me some Katamari Damacy Reroll.
When I booted it up, for no good reason, the game was windowed, and it would not recognize my USB PS3 controller. I would later pick up a third party Xbox One controller for $22 on clearance at my local walmart, and it turns out that after you beat the training section, you can go into the options screen and make the game full screen instead of windowed.
I know there was is a fanboy flame war about offset analog sticks vs parallel analog sticks, but I'll just leave it at the Xbox One controller (as was the 360's controller for Beautiful Katamari) is woefully inadequate when it comes to doing the dash maneuver. It's a lot harder to pull off with offset analog sticks than it is with parallel ones. As you can see in this footage, there are many times I try and fail at getting the dash manuver to work.
All that aside, this Katamari Damacy remake is availble on the PS4, One, Switch, and Steam. I know they made some tweaks and changes from the original, controls, and levels times, but overall, if you are like me, and missed the opportunity to pick this game up on the PS2, REROLL is a great way to experience this unique, one-of-a-kind game, or to experience it again if you owned it or played it in the past.
NOTE: I am not responsible for "Katamari on the Rocks" getting stuck in your head for the rest of your life. This song enters your soul, and never leaves you. You will find yourself singing it at random for the rest of your earthly existence.

The cool thing about this demo is, if you have a newer version of Quake II, either the steam version or the one that came with the special collector's edition of Quake 4, you can install the full game and play it Ray Traced. I could not get it to install off the original 1997 disc, and from the steam community posts, that might be because it needs certain updates and patches for the RTX demo to find it for the install. Some did post that the version that came with the Quake 4 collector's edition worked for them.
All that being said, I love Quake II, and the RTX demo makes it look awesome. This is a new way to play through a classic if you have the means to play it.
And in case you still thinking about doing a Dell Optiplex build, here's the rig I am running:
Optiplex 9020
i7 4790
RTX 2060 KO
32 gig DDR 3 at 1600 MHZ (the max speed the motherboard supports)
An EVGA 500w PSU with a 24 pin to Dell adapter (The adapter is extremely important if you are gong to upgrade to a better GPU over the low wattage GPU's available, but even with the default, there are some good low profile low wattage cards)
I don't know if people are still interested in an optiplex build as tech has already moved forward, but in case you are on a budget, or just like tinkering. For me, I don't plan on upgrading for a long time, as this is more of an editing rig for me than a gaming one, but, as you can see, I still delve into PC gaming from time to time.

I know there are more differences than just left handed and right handed Link, like the maps being completely flipped around, but overall, if I didn't own the GCN version already, those differences don't make the Gamecube version $100 better than the Wii version which is a budget way of playing one of the best Zelda games of all time.

I'm kind of mad at myself for listening to mainstream reviews at the time that criticized Midway's Rampage remakes on the PS1 and N64. At the time I was by far more impressionable. A friend of mine gave this to me last year when I went back to visit Arizona. He found it at a thrift store, and picked it up for me. Same guy who gave me a Master System he found when he was doing some side-work and tearing down a house for someone.
This game is really fun. Yes, as the reviewers in the criticized it for, it is very repetitive in nature, and you end up doing the same thing over and over again in each level, but that arcade, simple fun is the appeal. Add in a couple of friends to play it with, and while it's gameplay concept may not be the deepest, you still have the formula for hours if not weekends of fun playing with friends. Repetitve? yes, but still a blast to play.

This is just a vid of me playing a bot deathmatch in my most recent created map. As usual, I'm not good at naming things, so I don't have a name for the map. I also packed away the memory card that had my save on it, so all my unlockables aren't in this.
For some reason I can only add 8 bots. I can't remember if you have to unlock more, or if that's all you can have in this TS. TS2, and FP kind of blend sometimes.
