Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure - Part 50: Moon Temple
In order to gain access to Crossbell City, we need to resolve the problem with the bells. We go off to the Moon Temple first and have to make our way through the remainder of the place. Earlier in the game, we came here with Ries, which is why some of the loot has been claimed, but now the rest of it is up for grabs. However, at the very end, the bell is guarded by Campanella and we need to deal with him before we can complete our objective. Believe it or not, but I think this is the only Enforcer fight in the entire Crossbell series. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmLapiz1eR8
This is one of the few videos where no one is recruited, either through optional means or required by story. Otherwise, we depart for the next kingdom/region/biome and find ourselves in the desert. The dungeon is fairly straightforward, but I am not completely paying attention to it. From there, we arrive in Dabavin, but the characters here are not quite that simple to acquire. We either need items, money, or power, and all three are lacking a bit, so we'll be popping back later to get them.

In the event you wanted to see the three ranked 5s games from yesterday, here they are cut from the rest of the video. I am not in comms with any of them, which leads to some issues in the first game. After that, we start doing the tri-lane bot. However, with the Lucario nerfs coming out later today, they will need to find a new solo laner if this strategy is to persist.

With the ability to boost our beast, we make our way to the next gym leader, which just so happens to be the grass type. Sadly, Venonat is not really online to help with some poisons here, but luckily we do have a plucky fiery female and a feline to help bring us over the finish line. The main obstacle I am starting to hit here is that I only have a single evolved Pokemon while my enemies are starting to use guys with better base stats. Essentially, I need to get stronger to trigger some of the next forms, and unfortunately, three of my guys will not be evolving until the mid-20s at the soonest. Basically, there is a lot of weight for Spike to pull, so hopefully he is up to it.

As the name suggests, this video alludes to some of the history between Max, Grit, and Nell, as Grit was once a member of Orange Star. Sadly, they don't go into detail about this as some of the lines you'll see later seems to imply there is a single school responsible for all of the officers, which would not make a lot of sense.
As for the mission itself, it is the usual Max vs. Grit fare. Grit wants to hide units in fog and poke from a distance. Max wants to smash everything in his path. As long as you control or avoid the blind spots, Grit is a lot less threatening. Grit's direct weakness carries over to water units as does Max's direct strength, so you essentially have a monopoly on the ocean. Use it and bring the mission to a swift end. Just watch for the battleship in the corner.

Here is a new indie JRPG that came out within the past week that has been on my radar since its Kickstarter. I wanted to cover it properly, but I don't have the time at the moment, so this may be something I can visit down the line. The mecha premise to it has me a little excited, but after that brief mech fight in the tutorial, I am not sure how satisfying it will be long term.
As for premise, I still don't have much to give you. We play as some mecenaries for the tutorial where we have to destroy a crystal. However, that sets off a series of events that we learn a little about when we hop over to some new characters who need to investigate an armed individual by a parade that leads to a fight with a sandworm. When that is all done, we hop over to another character where I had to stop.
As for this game, if there is interest, I can try to keep going after I finally finish Zero. I haven't had the time to play it for the past couple weeks, and I've burned through my backlog of it to upload. Sadly, I will need to go back into it afterward to get the secret dungeon, so that is going to be a heavy time investment for the remainder of the month. If things go smoothly, this may be an option in January, but I can't make any promises for sure yet.

A special video going up today to show some of the new content added. It is going to break some of the continuity here, but it is pretty important to show the decorations if nothing else. To summarize if you haven't seen it already, Weakness Exploit has been added as a decoration, which opens up a LOT of different options for optimizing your set. Ideal Talismans has changed a lot as you can now slot it in and just get your Talisman to cover something else. A large part of the RNG grind has been alleviated, and we are going to see the new sets reflect this.
Otherwise, we have the monster that was stealth added under the new Apex monsters and the Elders. Normally, you are supposed to be surprised when he shows up and starts carpet bombing an area, but since I have all of the missions done prior to the update, there is no chance for him to jump out and surprise me. So, we put him up front and take him on while I start working on the new missions in the interim. We have a bit of grinding to do before the new Elder Dragons unlock, so it is going to suck to be a handful of endgame monsters.
Lastly, the other important reason to show this is that the drops you get off Bazel far surpass what you get out of Narwa. Farming her is going to become obsolete as you can face him instead. Sadly, traditional gunning builds are not going to be as effective against him as blades and bludgeons, but there may be an explosive set that can still do a number on him. We'll have to work at it and see what is optimal.

The Blue Moon campaign kicks off with Olaf's home ablaze. There is a map here, so make sure you grab it so Blue Moon can field neotanks in the fights to come.
As for the map itself, there are pipe seams we have to blast to get to some parts of the map, there are new land tiles to connect peninsulas, and still bottleneck galore. Between Olaf and Lash, neither one specializes in indirect combat, making this one a little tricky to deal with. If you take too long, there will be sniper nests you have to break through, but going too early can be overextending. Ideally, you may want to go all-out immediately after launching your super near the end so you have the global damage to soften everything and limit her mobility for a counter-attack. Just remember that Lash's units can be extremely difficult to kill during her super and plan accordingly.

There are 2 ways to win this game and one to lose it. My strategy holds water here, and I will explain the math below.
The breakdown is as follows for the numbers:
Captain - 9
Yoshiki - 1
Shizuka - 2
Katashi - 3
Melody - 10
Nikolas - 6
Beatrix - 7
Sora - 8
Vladimir - 4
Shizuka and Katashi could be reversed, and Nikolas and Beatrix could be reversed. We do get information on the Captain and Yoshiki to identify them.
Since anything over 10 has 10 taken away from it, we can see that Nikolas and Beatrix will have 3 (13), meaning one of them dies if everyone else pairs up and we do nothing. Sora makes the sacrifice for herself and Vladimir here, since she combining with him would give them 2 (12), making them the lowest. Her and Vladimir doing nothing means one of the twins dies. Essentially, our best strategy in the game is to do literally nothing since there is no guarantee that people with complementary numbers will even group up (twins with Katashi/Shizuka or Sora) and we are guaranteed to have a higher number by default than almost half of the other players. So in the event you're wondering why I did what I did, that is why.
Luckily, the next game is less math intensive, but does have logic going for it.

I don't think this is the first time Blue and I did this mission in multiplayer, but it is our first time doing so without one of the teammates cursing up a storm.
For Barroth, he has a water weakness in mud form, a fire weakness without. My bullets excel at removing the mud so Blue can burn the beast. To date, I have not been able to break his head (before killing him), so I am relying on getting those parts from other means. I imagine with a bludgeon, it would probably be easier.
This one is the wall monster from MH3, so I imagine wrecking it like this was very cathartic for Blue if nothing else.
