Is the National Guard still deployed at the US Capitol and What's up on the roof of the White House?
Today is a request video where I answer the questions are the National Guard troops still deployed and patrolling around the US Capitol and what's going on at the White House roof today? Apparently, a number of viewers were watching the White House webcam and saw a group of people on the White House roof so they texted and sent me messages asking if I could go check it out. I did, but I must have gotten there too late because I really couldn't see much going on. I also checked out the US Naval Observatory's master clock to see if it matched up with an iPhone and we met up with Mustang Medic next to the White House who told me he was able to find a few national guard troops unloading at the US Capitol.

Several of you have asked me to go back to the White House Visitor's Center to check on the Trump portrait on the wall of Presidents, so I unpacked all my devices and went through the security check to see what we could see. After that I rode over to the White House where Marine One landed and took off again for a weekend getaway in Delaware, by way of Jay Leno in Maryland (long story).

I then decided to stop and smell the flowers at the Kenilworth Aquatic Garden, before heading to the White House for the arrival of Marine One.

So it was kind of a bit turbo today and I decided to chill out by going to a public art festival of light in Georgetown, Washington DC. The Glow Festival is a art festival of illuminations that is held annual in Georgetown, and I decided to walk around a bit and take in a few of the sites. Unfortunately I managed to drop and destroy my DJI Osmo Pocket 2 in the process, but a new one arrived this morning (the benefit of living 10 miles from an Amazon warehouse--6 hour overnight shipping).
Anyway, enjoy some of the light fixtures they have in Georgetown. I'll be back at the White House and Capitol later today.

It's a Columbus Day / Indigenous People's Day in Washington DC and protestors marked the event at the White House with a bit of vandalism against the Andrew Jackson statue. I'm told several were arrested but I arrived too late to see any of that. I did manage to catch the Marine One arrival, decoys and all (they even faked me out) before heading over for a closer look at the World War 2 Memorial (not on a bike, but on foot).
