While at the New Orleans Investment Conference this past weekend, Chris and I had the great pleasure of sitting down with Grant Williams, publisher of the economic blog Things That Make You Go Hmmm and principal of Real Vision TV.
There will be no smooth transition back to sustained economic growth, he warns.
Instead, the distortion of today’s excessive asset prices will require a systemic reset to fix. Either by a deflationary event that destroys the malinvestment, or by an inflationary event that destroys the currency.
Either way, a shock to the system awaits us.

When Chris was out for our event with Robb Wolf in northern California last month, we paid a visit to Singing Frogs Farm along with a group of Peak Prosperity members. Adding to the outing's embarrassment of riches, permaculture expert Toby Hemenway joined in.
We saw much that day that inspired us about the regenerative and productive impact humans can have on their farmland when using wise soil management techniques and leveraging natural systems.
Now, of course, not everyone has an 8-acre farm in the country to apply these practices to. Does that mean that permaculture is only relevant to rural farmers?
Not all all, says Hemenway. He has just released a new book, The Permaculture City: Regenerative Design for Urban, Suburban, and Town Resilience which explains how individuals, as well as society as a whole, can apply the same principles underlying permaculture to improve most if not all of the systems our way of life depends on.

Picking up on our last video about the Newsweek report that the US has been funding bat coronavirus 'gain of function' research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, we dig further into the "Was covid-19 created in a lab?" debate.
Digging into the biochemistry of viruses, we are struck in particular by a genetic string of RNA in covid-19 -- specifically the polybasic furin cleavage site PRRA -- that has all the appearance of an "insert" (i.e., something that does NOT look like a natural mutation)
Chris walks through the science in today's video. But as he does, he's expresses disappointment and angered at some of America's most prominent virologists -- who seem to be more concerned with CYA tactics (perhaps because they were involved in the gain of function research?) than embracing the truth.
Look, now is the time when we need our leaders most, and that for sure includes our heroes of science. It seems crazy to suspect they may be lying to us right now.
Hopefully they aren't and they help us get the truth on the virus fully onto the table and into the light of day.
But until that happens, we need to keep questioning, thinking critically, and making up our minds for ourselves.
