Did a Cosmetic Kit for the Stryfe . this mod is special as I did all the modding while on my friend's live-stream. We were discussing making a comic inspired by Nerf Modding. The latest stream was the one I fitted this cosmetic kit together, check it out here:
{Mod} Select Fire Stryfe + Arduino (Part Six - The Code)
After my attempt on the select fire Rapidstrike, I wanted to reduce the wiring required as well as components used. I started looking at ESC for brushed motor and wrote some test programs for it. After which I did not have the time to do further testing.
I have finally sat down to continue with the modding and I wanted to implement the mod into a Stryfe with single shot, burst mode, full auto and many more.
This is what I came up with. A Select fire stryfe.

After modding Nerf Blasters for 2 years, I wanted to make a series of back to basic videos, whereby I document some of the knowledge I obtained. Hopefully new Nerf Blasters modders will find the video useful.

The motivation be hide this implementation was: I wanted to make use of the same power source and yet do not wish the LEDs to dim when I rev up the motors. Hence I looked for a DC to DC voltage converter. The “Buck Convertor” seem like a good choice.
You can use separate power source as well, example 9v battery and use the buck converter to step down to 3 volt and you will not need resistor.
I will be trying out more of such converter, for example some of which can have an input voltage up til 12v and a standard voltage of 3.3v without adjustment, which I think can be useful, and some allows the control for current as well, which is ideal for LEDs as we can control both voltage and current.
Hopefully this will be helpful. Thanks for watching.

Buck Converter in the video:
you can get it from eBay:

You do need a decent voltmeter for fine adjustment of the output voltage.
