In Pokemon, Why has Ash's original Pikachu never gone inside it's first Pokeball? The one with the lighting bolt. ---Thinking about how Saturday morning cartoons and after school blocks are all dead and how depressing that is for the children of today. When I was a kid we had way too many options for cartoons...toy companies were funding cartoons left and right. Anything that could become a cartoon became one... and yes that led to the advent of a lot of crappy shows but also lead to the creation of some awesome ones too.
Even the ones that were clearly ripping off other popular series.. like how Ninja Turtles basically birthed all the other anamorphic cartoon heroes we loved like Street Sharks and Battle Toads. Or how Pokemon essentially birthed Yu-Gi-Oh... Or how celebrities getting cartoons lead to great WTF's like Hammer Man or Pro stars. I think we're really missing the boat on some awesome cartoons by not letting selling out and turning everything into a cartoon like they did back in the day.

Clocking in at $1,500 the Meta Quest Pro was Hands On at Meta Connect. The price of the VR headset formerly know as Oculus Quest Pro tells us that the Metaverse isn't being built for gamers but rather professionals and rich people who want to experience AR and VR daily.... A move that could effectively lower entry to the metaverse for average consumers. Personally, I'll be waiting for the Meta Quest 3 and see no reason to pick up this new device until it's made more accessible.
