In this video, we take a look at the now public Brave Search Beta, which became available to everyone yesterday, regardless of which browser you use.
Learn a bit of background on Brave Search, and take a quick tour with me as we take a peek at how it works. If you want to try it for yourself, head to search.brave.com and give it a shot!
I know I'm glad to see Brave building the first real, privacy-focused alternative to some of the Big Tech platforms, like Google. Brave Search Beta is already a joy to use, and I can't wait to see how much better it becomes as time goes on. ____________________________________________________

Thanks for checking out our second installment of GNU/Gaming!
In this video series, we're going to take a look at free and open-source games predominately available on GNU/Linux distributions, but you will also be able to find a few of them on other platforms such as Windows and macOS.
Minetest is a free and open-source voxel game very similar to the worldwide favorite, Minecraft. It differs in a few ways, though. It allows you to extend and mod the game using Lua, and can serve as the bedrock for other games built on top of it.
Minetest can be played on almost all GNU/Linux distributions, and is also available on Windows, macOS, and Android.

**FOSS GIVEAWAY ANNOUNCEMENT!**
I have finally had time to catch up on some work with my site, fossphones.com, which is dedicated to spreading the word about mobile GNU/Linux software and hardware.
One of my favorite gadgets these days is my PineTime, the affordable FOSS smartwatch from Pine64. I have an extra on hand, and want to give it away to one lucky person to celebrate the new release of a sealed and more end-user ready PineTime, and the wider FOSS community at large. Watch this video to learn more about the giveaway and how you can enter to win your own PineTime!
The winner will receive a sealed PineTime flashed with the newest InfiniTime v1.0. The giveaway begins on April 30 and will go on until May 15. The winner will be announced shortly afterwards.
Please note that this giveaway and https://fossphones.com are completely unaffiliated with Pine64. This is a giveaway of my own device that I purchased. I am, of course, a huge fan of Pine64 and the work they are doing in furthering the mission of affordable mobile GNU/Linux devices and wearables for everyone.
Check it out, share it around, and learn how you can get a PineTime of your own in this giveaway! FOSSphones is happy to continue to do our part to share the news about mobile GNU/Linux and free and open source software in general.

From an April 6, 2022 Twitch stream.
I found a new game that has been built on top of Minetest called New Planet. In this stream, we took some time to get used to how it works, and planned the beginning of a "100 Days in Minetest" challenge.
Can I make it on this strange new world without being killed by creatures or myself? Only one way to find out! -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/rav3ndust
In the "vault of original music," I am migrating some of my favorite musical tracks of my old musical projects over to LBRY and my website for the listening enjoyment of everyone who wants to check it out.
"ENAKRA" is an electro/glitch track written by my old musical project, Cryptix.
This project is now defunct, but we made some pretty solid tunes that I am happy to share.
If you like this track, you can find other old Cryptix tracks at:

In this video of GNU/Gaming, we explore Xonotic a little more in-depth with a part two video.
We play a few games of Deathmatch, and one of Team Deathmatch. On the next Xonotic episode, we will try to focus on Capture the Flag.
If you are on Ubuntu or any GNU/Linux distribution with Snap installed, install Xonotic easily with this command in your terminal:
snap install xonotic
If you would rather download it directly from the developers, or if you are on Windows or macOS, download Xonotic from its official site:

In this video series, we're going to take a look at free and open-source games predominately available on GNU/Linux distributions, but you will also be able to find a few of them on other platforms such as Windows and macOS.
On episode 1, we are going to take a look at the fast-paced first-person shooter, Xonotic! It is very similar to games like OpenArena and Quake 3. It features quick action, a wide array of weaponry to use scattered throughout each map, and the ability to play alone or with your friends.
We're going to look at a few different game modes so you can get a sense of what the game is like, should you decide to download it for yourself. Thanks for checking us out!

FOSScast is a sort of "podcast" where we discuss free and open source software and related topics.
On this episode, we discuss Linux phones like the PinePhone and the Librem 5, their privacy benefits, and how they stack up against the Google Android/Apple iOS duopoly.
We also show you some valuable resources where you can learn more about Linux phones.
The music in the background belongs to me, and is called "Paradigm Shift."
