My newest and perhaps most enjoyable frankenswitch to date, the Cream Sponge. This switch is made by using the tactile stem from an Akko CS series Sponge, as well as it's 60g two stage spring inside the housing of a Kailh Cream (not Box). The two stage spring, requiring a bit more "push" at the beginning of the stroke, truly accentuates the tactile bump, which gildes to smooth bottoming out. This ends up delivering a deeper sound when hitting bottom.
After recently getting back into tactile switches, I acquired a few Holy Panda switches, which I really liked and was surprised to find how well this combination turned out to be. I'd honestly say this switch gives any number of Holy Pandas a run for their money. Akko switches have yet failed to disappoint, especially when frankenswitching.
I place the stem inside of the top housing in the correct orientation, then I place the post inside of the spring ensuring the top housing is aligned and close.

In this video I mod the Redragon K617 Fizz with zip and fit for the case. neoprene strips for the plate, PE foam over the PCB, Tempest Tape mod (x3), and the Plumber's Tape mod. I do sound tests with stock components (lubed switches), different switches, different caps, and fully modded with stock components. I accidentally missed recording some due to Covid brain, but I think that the different sound tests provide good contrasts.

*This keyboard is poorly designed, overpriced, and the agent for this company spammed all of my channels thinking it was okay because I reviewed their unit*
* I cannot recommend this company or it's products *
I really wanted to love this kit, but unfortunately it has an issue that I believe will affect 100% of users who want to use the kick down feet. I also encounter a bug/features as the 'T' LED turns white anytime I press the function key. And while minor, the box states that it is a 60% keyboard and has the printed layout of a 64 key 60% keyboard.

After adding silicone to both the top and bottom Polia housings, I used a gold plated 62g spring, a brown stem, and ended up with a decent silent tactile switch. Here is a quick sound test. I'll do a longer video of the actual franken-build later.
Thanks for watching!

I replaced the stem from an Akko Ocean CS Blue switch with the stem from a Halo Clear. The tactile event is still quite similar to the clear, but more noticeable due to the lighter weight spring, and also delivers a deeper tone than either stock switch.
What do you think of this frankenswitch?
