The man was forced to apologize for his daughter's "act" — she "performed the ritual" "under influence of emotion", not realizing that a Russian citizen was standing behind the net. This, according to him, was a mistake, and the girl repents.

The Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/UkrainianTennisFederation) of The Tennis Federation of Ukraine says that the organization regrets the handshake that occurred and promises that it will not allow anything like this to its athletes. The further fate of the tennis player Kotlyar is in question, many Ukrainians on the web demand her disqualification.
