Elyn Jacobs is a member of our Truth About Cancer team. Her breast cancer survivor story began in 2007, when at age 45 she was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. As her own mother was losing a battle to breast cancer at the time with conventional treatment methods (chemotherapy and radiation), Elyn decided that that would not be her fate. After all, she had 2 young boys to raise and wanted to see them grow into men. She went to her appointed oncologist and explained to her how she wanted to cure her breast cancer naturally. To her surprise, the oncologist was on board with Elyn, but explained that while doctors are in medical school they aren’t taught anything about nutrition or natural ways of dealing with disease and told her to search for a holistic doctor. That’s when she found Dr. Mitch Gaynor. Dr. Gaynor helped her with her nutritional supplements and gave some meditation tapes but he also brought something else to light. He explained to Elyn that something else may have actually caused her cancer and it was probably an emotional trauma that had happened to her before she was 5 years old. Over the next few years Dr. Gaynor continued to follow her progress. Then in May of 2014 an energy healer was the first to alert Elyn that her cancer was back. She later had a biopsy and not only had her cancer come back, it was now stage 3. Knowing she was going to heal her Stage 3 breast cancer naturally, she began using many different alternative cancer treatments and by 2015 the cancer was gone.
