Forma Paint Stripper on a Makita 18V Brushless Angle Grinder (DGA504Z)
A 52 second review of the Forma Strippers! Called the XAG04Z in the USA, as a woodworker I still find many uses for the Makita Angle Grinder. Most recently I picked up some paint stripper discs from a ripper of a little Aussie company, Forma AU... the purple ones are the best ;) Super fast paint and dirt removal off reclaimed timber and doesn't damage the substraite.

While this is for my Kreg Accu-Cut XL Rails, the principle will work for any track saw tracks. Festool, Makita, Dewalt, doesn't matter. If you have a mobile workbench similar to mine that is 120cm / 4ft long this system should work for you. Having the storage for all the track saw accessories on the cutting bench is awesome and best of all, it doesn't take up any extra space.

With the wooden frame built it is time to mount it to the concrete ceiling of the garage. Damn, that was an effort! I needed to correct a few, umm, miscalculations, to get the door opening again before securing the cladding and making it pretty.

I got my cordless 18V Makita brad nailer (DFN 350Z) about a year ago and have been putting it through its paces. Is it the best nailgun you can buy? No, but it may be the most convenient and does the job it was designed for very well. It fires 15 to 35mm brads, requires no compressor, no cords, and none of the maintenance a Paslode or other gas nail guns would have. A simple but solid 18 gauge C1 brad nail unit and a great addition to your workshop.
Oddly, this model doesn't seem to be available in America. It's big brother, the XNB01Z is the closest match. It does have bump fire and goes up to 2" brads too so is worth checking out: https://amzn.to/31gBTDo
Or, if you need something a bit bigger the XNB02Z is 16 gauge and fires 1" to 2-1/2" nails: https://amzn.to/3vYPvRK

Recently my lovely little Wifie has developed an obsession for weed. Collecting it, stealing it from the neighbours, and now, growing her own. The plastic tub she uses to grow her weed is too big and heavy to move around to keep in the sun on our balcony, so she has asked for a little Weed Wagon to help her out. It is essentially a mobile plant stand / base / trolly thing for keeping pot plants or planter boxes on.
Sumo's Scrap Wood Challenge (#SPSWC2020) was the perfect excuse to break out some of the bed-slat hoard from my roadside scabbings and get creative with the new mitre saw station utilising the stop block, bevel and mitre features of the saw. It was a great fun little build that only took a few hours and could easily be adapted to your own horticultural needs!

When I am not #woodworking I am often playing #dungeonsanddragons instead. Over the best part of the last year, I have been combining those two loves. I wanted a one-of-a-kind handmade wooden dice tower for my weekly D&D game, and dove in with no plan and little clue knocking out the cool spiral staircase rolling mechanism.
Then life happened, the side hustle and sponsored videos took priority, and the poor DIY dice tower project languished in the corner of the workshop gathering dust. I'd progress them in spits and spurts, until last week when I decided all else had to wait, I wanted my dice towers! It was perhaps the most fun and unique build I've done... so apologies for the mini-movie length feature ;)

Edge jointing boards using my router gave me headaches a few months back so much I made a video on "How NOT to Edge Joint". Now with my new homemade jointer, it is time to revisit this skill and use it to create my first panel. Technique and practice are key here but I need the panel for my next project so there was no better time to learn.

To finish the moneybox I decided to inlay some coins in the face and use spray polyurethane for the first time as I couldn't find WWMM Steve's favourite spray lacquer! This completes my first 'non-shop' project and while not perfect, I was a very proud novice at the end. Better yet, the twin loved it. Winning.

On this Fixit Fingers Quick Fix, I'll show you how to #DIY install standard window #blinds that have brackets to be mounted to the window box. Block out, vertical blinds, Venetian blinds, most will follow these basic steps. Hit me up if yours are different and I'll see if I can assist. All in all if you are lucky this should only take 15 minutes or so, a little longer if you need to adjust the spacings.
Our building is solid 1970s brick and we recently replaced the 50-year-old windows with nice new ones. This meant I needed to remove and re-install dozens of various window blinds throughout the building. Some were easy, some were tricky, so I'll throw in a few tips on how I get around some of the issues that arose.

A Workbench and/or Sawhorses. This is one you'll probably build. They make great first learning projects. You'll probably end up building many over your career. I couldn't find my Ryobi one online, but your local hardware store will have similar in other brands. If you have the budget, Kreg have two awesome looking options, a saw horse and a mobile project centre workbench (but they are a bit pricey...)
