I don't know of a tastier healthier meal that takes less time to make or is as low cost. I posted a very similar dish last month but without dumplings. The dumplings make the dish. I made the dumplings from a simple bread recipe in my breadmaker and stopped the breadmaker before the baking began and froze the dough to be used as dumplings. When all of the frozen ingredients thaw in the pan the liquid is absorbed by the doughy dumplings and as they expand they get lighter and juicy and full of flavor. The sausages were added as flavorings as were the shrimp, the main ingredients are the greens and veggies and dumplings.The vinegar in my homemade Italian dressing complements the bitterness of the greens and the small amount of red pepper gives the dish a little bite. Very satisfying. It could probably use some mushrooms. You could add cheese and let it melt on top but then you would die from how good it would be. I will be posting a baking bread in a breadmaker machine for beginners video on Sunday. here is the bread recipe I used for the dough to make the dumplings. 3/4 teaspoon of SAF yeast 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon coconut oil or oil of your choice 1/2 teaspoon of salt. 1/2 cup of water at 115-120 degrees F Add to bread machine as per usual and remove before the baking part or knead manually and let it rise and then punch it down and separate into small pieces for dumplings and freeze.
