(Parexocoetus brachypterus & Phoebastria albatrus) Are there any birds with scales? In fact... All birds have them, because even if you don't know it, their legs are covered with scales. Now now, are there any fish with wings? Many species possess not only wings but are even better than some birds at flying. After all, while chickens, penguins and ostriches are also birds, they’re not really good at flying at all. On the other hand these species have pectoral fins very similar to the wings of a bird, and which allow them to fly up to 50 meters and with a duration of up to almost a minute in the air. Its appearance and the way it moves its noodle-like spikes could pass it off as a piece of seaweed. However, although our eyesight may deceive us, this being possesses a sophisticated visual system. Never challenge a crustacean to box (Odontodactylus scyllarus & Alpheus randalli). Shrimps are not only good at swimming, they are also quite good at boxing... and joining us into the ring we have the mantis shrimp! This stomatopod is quite the box of surprises in that it’s not quite a mantis, a lobster, and let alone a peacock. It only has a resemblance to these animals because of its appearance, bright colors and the position of its limbs, which are very reminiscent of the claws of a mantis. However, the comparisons end there, especially when it comes to hunting its prey. The mantis lobster has raptor limbs capable of violent and rapid strikes. Fish do not like cucumber (Actinopyga echinites). Which marine animal would you choose to be? Some might want to be feared as a white shark, while others might want to be a funny seal. There are plenty to choose from, but who in their right mind would want to be a sea cucumber? They don't seem to be anything special... until you try to face one. Cucumbers possess several defense mechanisms, such as releasing toxins capable of killing small fish if attacked. They can also "vomit" their intestines, which may seem like a bizarre superpower, but is useful in throwing off or confusing predators. Fishes are also afraid of witches (Eptatretus stoutii) Witches don't just fly through the sky on broomsticks, they also lurk in the depths of the sea. The hagfish are truly peculiar and creepy creatures at the bottom of the sea. For starters, they are the only animal that has a skull, but no backbone. Which is curious, since even snakes and eels have bones in their bodies. These fish are ALWAYS hungry (Chiasmodon niger & Hydrocynus goliath) Some can't be satisfied with a few simple snacks or small spoonfuls... Especially when you have a big mouth to feed. On the one hand we have the black swallower, which possesses a stomach capable of expanding so much it can eat animals larger than itself. Basically turning it into a kind of anaconda of the sea. The Odre Plant groups many species of carnivorous plants that share a particularity, its leaves are shaped like a vase.
