Testing the automatic brake I developed for a Chinese wind turbine manufacturer. When the turbine goes too fast, the electronics shut it down almost to a stop, before letting it go. Alas the strobing of the camera means it's difficult to see what is going on, so look out for the black tape on the end of one of the blades, and the blurring of the blade tips when it's running fast. This electronic brake is now built in to all this manufacturers wind turbines as standard.

(stabilized video version - alas the video stabilization software causes the subtitles to tend to jump about instead) Having fun with wind power! The best thing in Sydney since the bridge climb, taken on a digital camera that kept cutting out - hence lots of short hurriedly panned clips, all strung together. Terrific fun!
This is an old video - one of my fery first that has since been 'processed' with image improving software - so it's a bit jerky in places.

A long time close friend not seen for three years had no idea I was even in the country ;)
I had even bought a T shirt of a movie he'd been part of and was wearing it whilst I sat at an end table pretending to just be just another customer....!

A video clip of Bronte Beach, with a good friend doing some of the walk on parts. Just across from its world famous neighbor Bondi, Bronte Beach is my favorite place ever ;), especially when I get there in the small hours and watch the sun come up. Sadly I didn't have many clips to work with as this was early days with digital camera recording and was just really just testing the water with it, so it features the same clips reworked over and over. When I first set foot on Bronte, The Groove Armada hit 'At The River' came to mind - so I had to have a go at making a little home video featuring a remixed version if it just to have a play with the excellent Windows Movie Maker video editor version 6 that used to come bundled with Wondows (7 I think?). Especiially as Bart started humming it as I panned the camera on me mentioning it, great memories of a great friend in a great place on my happy holidays. If you want a copy, look up 'By the River - Groove Armada' at your favorite music supplier. A tribute to this most happy place. Enjoy :-))
