All you need is a url of a video and a list of timecodes, I made a script that takes both and automatically splits and properly tags all the track in an album on YouTube (or chapters in an audiobook). I wrote this a while ago and have used it a lot and it's saved me a lot of effort. Check out the script below and see if it inspires you to optimize something you're trying to get done.

Make a picture slideshow with a single terminal command. The command below will take all .jpg pics in a directory and cycle through them one every four seconds (that is, framerate of 0.25):
cat *.jpg | ffmpeg -framerate 0.25 -f image2pipe -i - output.mkv
Or, add a music track as well:
cat *.jpg | ffmpeg -framerate 0.25 -f image2pipe -i SONG.mp3 -acodec copy -output.mkv

Decided to install an integrated webcam on my ThinkPad X200. The process is similar for other ThinkPads. I did have to move some wifi antennas as well, but all together, it wasn't a too difficult process!
If you want to do it for your own ThinkPad, look up appropriate ThinkPad webcam kits on eBay (shouldn't be too much more than $10).
