It reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks, as well as number two on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart for four weeks, behind "This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan in both cases, and was certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of one million copies.
The second single "Let Me Be The One" peaked at #112 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart and #23 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 20 weeks.

Released as the album's lead single, the song became a top ten hit on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and peaked at number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Take You Out" was later interpolated by American rapper Jay-Z in his song "Excuse Me Miss", on his album The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse, released in 2002.
