This is Vid Number 4 of an entire Normal Difficulty playthrough of the original Killzone on the PS2. I don't normally do playthroughs, and this isn't the most skillful playing, but I know there is a lot of interest in this game now that Killzone 2 is out, so I though I'd do a full playthrough showing all the levels and the story cut scenes, so let me give you a SPOILER WARNING. for those who haven't played the game yet.
To be honest, I think this game was unfairly panned by the gaming media. I really enjoyed it, but I will admit to it's flaws. First of all, it's glitchy. It's filled with graphical glitches (which you're likely to see in these vids), and occasionally the game will even glitch out and stop progression. The biggest complaint is with the controls. The default analog control setting it terrible. Luckily, the game's controls are 100% customizable, so you can fix, or mostly fix the aiming. I've never gotten it to feel perfect to my tastes, but I've gotten it close enough to where I can adjust to the aiming. Also, the Hellghast voices are extremely annoying at first, but you get used to them, and may even start to like them after a while.
To be honest, I'd have to disagree with the belief that the developer just tried to push more than the PS2 to handle in this game. I've seen games with nearly as good, or, arguably, better graphics run a lot smoother on the system. In reality it's likely that the game was rushed in order to beat Halo 2 to the market. It feels like it released too early, and it just lacks that final layer of polish. I hear they are bringing an HD version of this game to the PS3 with Killzone 3. I think I'd rather see a remake where they fix the glitches, and the other problems with the game.

This is part two of a showcase for Area 51 the FPS for the PS2. This is just to show off the gameplay, and not my skills. This is an entire round, and not a montage. I'm sure you're uber l33t at this game, so anyone who wants to post about how much better they are, and how they'd own me, DON'T.
For those of you who want to know how many people are playing click this link:

The link tells you exactly how many people are on the game on the North American servers at that exact moment.

This is some gameplay footage for Jak 3 on the PS3.
I have actually had this footage on my hard drive for nearly 2 years. It was one of the last vids I recorded before my old PC died on me. I though I had already uploaded it, but I guess I didn't because, I couldn't find it in my video manager.
For whatever reason, I decided to play through Jak 3 before I played through Jak 2. I've had Jak 2 longer, but never really could get into it, because I wasn't a big fan of the Jak Theft Auto turn the series took after the first Jak and Daxter. That being said, I was putting a run through in Jak 3 when I made this vid, and I got side tracked, and of course haven't touched the game since probably around the time I made this vid. I was enjoying the game for what it was when I was playing it, certain annoying missions aside (like a stupid race you have to compete in , Grrr!).
Even though I'm not a big fan of the direction the series went, you can't deny the quality put into Naughty Dog's games. When it came to PS2 development, very few developers put as much time or effort into the system. I guess being a second party developer sort of helped that one along, but there is definitely a reason why Jak 3 will always be mentioned in graphical debates over the best looking PS2 games.
One thing I wish Naughty Dog would have done, though, is borrow the gun controls from Ratchet. The one Jak 3 uses is OK, but doesn't work or feel nearly as well as the one Insomniac used in the Ratchet and Clank series.

So, in 2018,m I created a side channel called Station Geek, a channel devoted to Playstation system games. Mostly PS1 and PS2, but was going to include PS3. My plan was to upload monthly videos on that channel as practice to get better at making vids on my main channel, and to maintain the discipline of trying to create and make more videos. Well, life happened, and I have not been able to upload videos on any channel on a regular basis.
I decided to bring the two videos I made for Station Geek, and bring them over to my main channel so my regular subscribers can view them. Hope you enjoy.

I am officially taking this off of my Underrated Gem list, as, when I first put this video up, Ico still had some underrated status, even if it was growing in popularity at the time, but it still wasn't a huge mainstream success. In the 9 years since I posted this video, it has become a mainstream name. So those who were confused as to why I added it to the list to begin with, it didn't used to be as well known as it is today.
OK, here it is the most overrated underrated gem of all time. I'm not saying it's a bad game. in fact its a damn great game, but I am saying that it's kinda iffy to put on as a lesser known game after every gaming magazine and website under the sun has given this their top spot for most underrated game of all time.
Ico is an awesome game, and should be experienced by everyone, but as far as it being lesser know, or overlooked, I don't think it falls into that category anymore.
When it first hit it was definitely overlooked, but now that people have been tooting their horns for years about this game, I think that most gamers have heard of this game.
Ico is a great game, a short one, but great nonetheless, and I don't want people to think I'm criticizing the game for not being as good as it's said to be, because it is an awesome game. I'm just saying that it's not exactly unknown by any stretch of the imagination.
Ico is only available on the PS2.
Also look into Shadow of the Colossus it's semi-sequel. Shadow sold well enough to be a greatest hit, so I won't be putting it on my underrated gems list, but it's also a great game.

OK, there are already like a million vids of this game already up on youtube. However, I want to start showing off more of my retro games. The problem is there are already vids up of pretty much every retro game I own, so I won't get to show them off unless I make a repeat vid.
There are already vids of this game up. I'm well aware of that, but nobody plays it right except me. OK, just kidding, but some of them treat the game like Contra. I punch more than I shoot.
This isn't a perfect run, but who cares?
This is one of my favorite NES games. As you'll notice, there will only be sound coming out of one side of your speakers. That's because the Nes only has one audio wire coming out if it's side. This is the original game on the original system. No roms.
Don't ask about roms, or supply them on my vids your posts will be removed. I don't use, nor do I support the use of roms.

This is some gameplay footage of Mario Bros on the Atari 2600.
Even though I'm not very good at this game, this is actually a pretty good, playable port. I am from the NES generation of gaming, so I missed the Atari age of gaming, so I can only look back in retrospect, and with an open mind.
If I had a VCS at the time, this game would have been awesome to have. Sure, it pales in comparison to the arcade original, but thinking back to how it would have been at the time, having a playable version of Mario Bros at home would have rocked.

This is just a vid of a Link Cable Deathmatch in Descent Maximum for the PS1. This is the Robo-Anarchy mode where two players square off against each other in the single player levels that are filled with the same enemies as in the campaign mode. The game also allows straight-up deathmatch as well if you don't want the levels to be crowded with enemies.
The Link Cable is a nearly forgotten peripheral for the PS1 that allowed for what is essentially Lan play. In order to play this mode, you need two old gray model PS1 consoles with the I/O port on the back (the PSOne remodel doesn't support the Link cable, and neither does the PS2), two TVs, and two copies of the game. Anyone who has ever played lan on the modern consoles, will be pretty familiar with the setup.
Chances are, most people who owned, or played this game on the PS1, never got to experience the multiplayer modes for it, because of how expensive that setup would have been back in the PS1 days, and because of the limited sales of the Link Cable.
Chances also are, most people who owned a PS1 never even knew the Link Cable existed to begin with.
NOTE: If you get dizzy from video games, then you probably won't want to watch this vid for very long. The sometimes choppy framerate mixed with early 3D visuals in a game that allows for 360 degree flight can be a nauseating experience for some people.
