Often the enemy of our souls attacks us at our weakest point. This is why we must watch ourselves and take note of those areas where we are vulnerable spiritually.

God's Intervention | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
12 Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless. 13 Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account”? 14 But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. 15 Break the arm of the wicked man; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness that would not otherwise be found out. 16 The Lord is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. 17 You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, 18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror. (Psalm 10:12-18)
When faced with evil, sometimes we don't know how to respond. Our first instinct is to be angry. We lash out against those who are doing evil. Sometimes it works; often, it doesn't. Usually, it worsens the situation because the evildoers will not give up. Others will leave, which is what the evildoers want since they can now be free to do what they want. Finally, some will freeze and do nothing. It will encourage the evildoers to continue. What can we do? Ask for God's intervention.

There are prerequisites to being a disciple. Without these prerequisites, it would be very hard, if not impossible, for a person to follow Jesus as a faithful disciple.

Selecitng leaders in the church is very important. We must ask the Lord for wisdom and guidance so that He can guide us in this process.

A Prayer of Examen | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
1 Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? 2 The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; 3 whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others; 4 who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind; 5 who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken. (Psalm 15:1-5)
Many Christians fall into the trap of not being mindful of their spiritual lives. They live each day unaware of the condition of their souls. Consequently, they fail to address issues or concerns early on that might affect their relationship with the Lord. We should practice the Prayer of Examen daily so that we would be aware of God's work in our lives and so cooperate with Him more faithfully.

Discernment is a learning experience. Though we may fail at times to discern well, let us continually learn so that we don't repeat the same mistakes.

Healing for Loneliness | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him. 14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.” 15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. (Luke 5:12-16)
Have you ever felt lonely even though you are with a lot of people? Many people get lonely for all sorts of reasons. It's a difficult feeling. People try all kinds of cures but none seem to work. At the end of the day, they still feel lonely. Only the Lord can heal a person of loneliness because He is the only One who knows the root causes of our loneliness.

Main Idea: “Only the Lord Jesus can heal us of loneliness.” (“Tanging Panginoong Jesus lamang ang maaaring magpagaling sa atin sa kalungkutan.”)
How does the Lord heal our loneliness?
Two Ways
1. He reframes our spiritual feeling of alienation (vv.12-13).
2. He transforms the social system of alienation (vv.14-16).
