On the last day of the 2021 Spring Session, the Illinois Senate had a very short debate regarding HB 156. This proposal would mandate that school districts make menstrual hygiene products available, at no cost to students, in each bathroom of every school building.
This preposterous bill passed the Illinois House by a vote of 68-43 on May 20th, and had 39 cosponsors.
Thankfully, State Senator Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) spoke up and asked some vital questions of the sponsor, Senator Karina Villa (D-West Chicago). In response to those questions, Senator Villa withdrew her bill from the record.

In his annual budget address on Wednesday, February 15th, Gov. Pritzker proposed that state officials spend $49.6 billion of tax dollars on a host of big government programs, especially in the areas of education and "human services," including $5 million to train people to kill babies in the womb.
Pritzker also proposed spending $250 million to provide free pre-school for children as young as 3-years-old.

Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel predicts that legalized marijuana will put more drugged drivers on Illinois roadways and cause more headaches for Illinois than all its tax revenue is worth. The chief was not allowed to testify during a recent legislative hearing on pro-marijuana legislation. He outlined his opposition to legalization in an interview with the Illinois Family Institute.
