My sister invited me and my parents to join her in a Bible reading plan this year. The plan goes somewhat chronologically through the Bible. There are 5 readings per week, allowing for missed days or breaks. If you wish to join along, here's the reading plan: https://www.intoyourbible.org/read-through-the-bible. If anyone is active in chat, I'll respond to messages between chapters or sections of reading. At the end I'll share a short vlog report if anything new is going on. Bible text is from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB). The BSB was generously dedicated to the public domain in 2023 and can be quoted in any form without prior permission from the publisher. https://www.bereanbible.com. I'm not a well-educated Bible answer person. Here are some resources for those with deep question about the Christian faith: https://biblethinker.org Mike Winger, https://www.gotquestions.org. May the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ guide you into all truth. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
I begin the long journey through the original Metroid game for NES. I don't remember if I played this back in the day, I think not. I know I played Super Metroid on SNES several times. This is a "remixed" version with the same gameplay as the original NES game, but with renewed visuals and sound. I won't be following any walkthrus and by no means have this game memorized, so I'll probably do a lot of aimless wandering.

Many books are still cut and in need of alignment and edge smoothing via sanding. I use a belt sander and various, simple jigs. Mostly it is a process by hand, and ultimately I have to trust my eyes for the end result. I have done bookbinding for about eight years. This is one of my least favorite steps in the process because it is time-consuming and difficult to get right. I'll use essentially the same IRL setup as last time. Hopefully my camera doesn't freeze a bunch of times. I semi-permanentely mounted the long USB extension to the ceiling inside, toward the door, prior to the stream, so I won't have to restring it every time. I also changed the audio setup slightly, simplifying the cords. A random graphical frame was added around the cameras. For music I listen to retro video game music from the 16-bit era.

There are two disciplines of this project that I might work on tonight. Either I'll convert sprite sheets into animated GIFs for Retro Runner, or I'll convert hardcoded Javascript and Css "data" into json. New GIFs will be uploaded to 7TV. This is my first time streaming on Live.space, Vaughn, Xeenon and Picarto for a total of 11 platforms. For music I listen to retro video game music from the 16-bit era.

The taping from the previous episode took longer than expected, so I didn't get to the actual spine gluing. Today I'll pick up where I left off. The drafting tape held true for several days. Really interesting stuff.

I stayed up all night last night to fix the Retro Runner code. Some sloppy javscript I wrote is now revised, though still not perfect. My brain was (and still is) stuck in a weird loop. Most of my challenges resulted from the odd behavior of CSS animation. This whole thing would probably have been easier if I animated using Javascript. It was a fun (if not frustrating) learning experience. Now the sprites have random delay, speed and z-index. Future improvements I wish to make relate to proportional pixel scaling and speed faithfulness to original retro game source material. I might also eventually switch from animated GIFs to CSS sprites to provide more framerate flexibility. For music I listen to retro video game music from the 16-bit era.

I juggle a soccer ball for exercise. It is good for balance, coordination and fitness. For music I listen to retro video game music from the 16-bit era.
It's a new year, 2024. I haven't streamed in over four months. Family and friends of mine are going through a Bible reading plan, and I decided to join them. The plan goes chronologically through the Bible, 5 days a week to allow for missed days or breaks. Marbled paper is used when I do bookbinding. The sheets are cut to size and folded for use as endpapers. I have put off the task of scanning my marbled papers for years, but now I want to scan my remaining collection before I use them in books. Since this last batch of paper is too large for my scanner I have to scan the sheets in two passes. I use Hugin to stitch the scans together and Capture One to remove distortion and apply a color consistent profile. For music I listen to retro video game music from the 16-bit era.
