Will Stocks Keep Crashing?
In this video, I discuss the recent sharp move down in stocks, Treasuries, and gold, and whether I expect it to continue.
The combination of an ugly 7-year Treasury auction, disappointing earnings results for some large tech stocks, and a resurgence of COVID cases led to a correlated sell-off in both risk assets and Treasuries last week. The last time we saw similar correlated moves was at the height of the liquidity crisis in March 2020.
When Treasuries begin to sell off in tandem with stocks, and risk parity funds are forced to begin to delever, that is usually when the Fed steps in. I believe that their hands are temporarily tied until we get next Tuesday's Presidential election results.
After that, the Fed will again be able to intervene aggressively in the markets to keep Treasury yields low and asset prices up-- at least until Congress is finally able to pass its massive stimulus bill.

In this video, I discuss the problems and logical inconsistencies involved with measuring Bitcoin dominance and relative market cap.
It makes zero sense to include stablecoins or centralized projects in this calculation.
When you measure various cryptos agains the cypherpunk ideals, there's only one coin that meets the cut-- and that is Bitcoin.
Even Ethereum is a highly centralized project, with a pre-mine, and even more regulatory capture coming with the move to proof of stake. If a captured, controlled coin flips Bitcoin's market cap, it is hardly a victory to be celebrated.
If you ask the wrong question or use the wrong metric like Bitcoin dominance, you get the wrong answer. What people should be asking is:
"What are the serious candidates that are both neutral money and that have the potential to replace the existing fiat financial system?"
There's only one, and that's BTC.

In this video, I discuss the US government's seizure of more than 50,000 Bitcoin from someone who himself stole that Bitcoin from the Silk Road dark web marketplace in 2012.
Bitcoin cannot be hacked or seized by anyone, including the US government, unless you give them your private keys. Law enforcement were unable to access James Zhong's Bitcoin until he cooperated with them, after having been put in jail.
Governments can single out individual Bitcoiners, but it's not practical for them to put 10's of millions of Bitcoiners into jail.
Tracking IP addresses, on-chain activity, and linking them to KYC crypto accounts is one way that the government can track both you and your Bitcoin.
A funny side-note: the US Gov just admitted in this report that Bitcoin is money:

And today I want to share with you another very cool trick
that will help you know when a stock is getting ready to bounce.

So how do we know when to buy a stock for a bounce?
Well, there are just 2 key rules that you need to remember:
1. The stock needs to be oversold.
2. The stock needs to have bearish sentiment.
Let's discuss rule #1 first:
how do we know when a stock is oversold?
The answer is that it needs to have closed below the lower Bollinger Band.
Here, for example, is a daily candlestick chart of Palo Alto Networks, whose ticker is PANW.
I've set the Bollinger Bands to a period of 80 days and the band width to 2 standard deviations.
You can see here that PANW closed below the lower Bollinger Band on October 26, 2015
So the stock is definitely oversold.
But is it time to buy yet?
Not until the second rule is met.
Which is: the stock also needs to have bearish sentiment surrounding it.
This means that the majority of traders need to be bearish on the stock.
If everyone hates a stock, it means that they've already sold it. If everyone who wanted to get out, has already gotten out, that means that the stock will probably not move much lower in the near future. Everyone who wanted to sell has already sold.
Which means that the stock has only one direction that it can move, and that is up. And that is what we want.
Now there are lots of ways to measure trader sentiment on a stock. In this video, we will cover just one way, and that is to take a look at trader sentiment surrounding the stock on the website StockTwits.com
Now trader sentiment on Stocktwits.com was not very bearish on October 26.
It was not until November 12 that we got really bearish sentiment on the stock.
So you definitely want to buy the stock on November 12. It is oversold as measured by the Bollinger Bands, and trader sentiment is quite bearish.
So if you bought at the close 156.70, you could have held it until it closed above the middle Bollinger Band at 170.97 (for a gain of roughly 9%), or even held on through earnings until it closed above the upper band at 187.34 (for a gain of almost 20%) in just over 2 weeks.
