This is an ongoing project process series showing the steps involved in creating this remote vehicle. I show what I've done so far, first prototypes, design changes and choices for future developments.
The project involves 3d design, CNC machining, 3d printing, electronics, PCB manufacturing and programming. We haven't broke out the welder yet! By the way, the RC/A in this case means Remote Control or Autonomous since we can program it however we like.
This video starts as an overview of the project, showing key features and then a look into the PCB development for the power distribution board using KiCAD. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOyuRZl5k3A
We go through the multi-sections solid tool and talk about some more advanced features like coupling and guide curves. This felt like a good time to take a look at surface design as well, so this is has that as an introduction.

Part 1 of 2
This is another video showing how to design 3d models in Fusion 360 to bring into KiCad EDA software.
This part is a Digikey search for the proper device, read the datasheet to find the mechanical drawing and then model the part in Fusion 360.
Part 2 builds the KiCad Footprint and imports in our 3d model.
