First Russian Space Film Crew Landed Back on Earth #shorts
A Russian actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko have returned to Earth (in the desert steppe of Kazakhstan's Karaganda Region) after spending 12 days on the International Space Station (ISS) shooting scenes for the first movie in space.
According to Russian space agency, the descent vehicle Soyuz MS-18 landed vertically and crew are in good shape.
Apparently, the Russian crew has beaten a Hollywood project announced last year by Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise together with NASA and Elon Musk's Space X. Russia has become the first nation to shoot a feature film (named 'Challenge') in space. Check out our website: https://www.southasiannewsnetwork.com/

● Number of reports have recently appeared in international media regarding Tetsuya Yamagami and his home-made weapon. Prominent of these is Gabriel Dominguez and Will Fee's excellent report published in Japan Times.
● Tetsuya Yamagami completed a full three-year term in the Maritime Self Defence Force between 2002 and 2005. During that time, he took part in live-fire exercises, meaning that he was well-trained in weapons' handling.
● Tetsuya Yamagami built his gun using readily available commercial components that can be bought at a hardware store. The home-made weapon was a dual-barreled gun.
● Materials bought from a hardware store included:
□ wood for the frame.
□ plumbing pipes for the
barrels.
□ electrical tape.
□ commercial batteries for
ignition.
□ electrical wiring.
● No externally visible element of the weapon appears to have been 3 D-printed.
● The weapon had a conventionally shaped pistol grip and was, possibly, constructed using instructions acquired on-line.
● Japanese Police have confiscated many craft-made guns of similar type from Tetsuya Yamagami's home which suggests that the suspect may have been building and testing similar weapon designs for some time.
● The weapon and ammunition used by Yamagami are crude. He chose the design of a double-barreled weapon as it was easier to conceal in the bag. The weapon was 40 x 20 centimetres, according to Japanese Police.
● The weapon is muzzle-loaded and used an electric firing mechanism, capable of firing each barrel independently. The suspect managed to fire two separate shots - one from each barrel.
● The large plumes of white smoke seen after each shot indicate that the propellent the gunman used was not the typical 'smokeless powder' used in commercial firearms, but something more similar to black powder, which was possibly procured commercially or self-made with some knowledge of chemistry.
● Most probably, a separate-loading ammunition was employed. In this ammunition type, the propellent and projectile are loaded into the weapon separately, either from the breach or the muzzle, the process resemling that of a musket.
● In terms of the projectiles used in the shooting, they may have been single "slugs." However, given the diameter of the barrels and their likely lack of spiral groves called rifling, the gunman may have instead loaded several backshot-like smaller projectiles into each barrel to increase hit probability - not unlike a shotgun.
● Specs for the designs of electric firing mechanisms incuding those for 3D-printed weapons can be easily found out online, with a bit of research and technical ability.
● According to Shinzo Abe's autopsy report, which indicates that at least two projectiles struck the former Prime Minister, even though the first shot seems to have missed the 67-year old entirely.
● Considering Abe's apparent lack of reaction to the first shot, as captured on video, it appears likely that the assailant had loaded multiple projectiles into each barrel of his crude weapon.
● Given the weapon's rudimentary design and limited firing capability, experts are not surprised that the assailant missed the first shot, which was fired from a distance of at least 6 metres.
● Lack of weapon's rifling, short-barrel length and crude construction indicate that the weapon possessed a very limited range and was imprecise. This would probably explain why the shooter decided to move closer to Abe to fire off the lethal second round.
● Japan's longest-serving Prime Minister was shot while delivering a stump speech in support of a Liberal Democratic Party candidate running in 10 July's Upper House elections. Shinzo Abe was pronounced dead hours later at a nearby hospital.
● Japan has tight gun control laws. However, Yamagami circumvented those restrictions by producing a home-made weapon that used separate-loading ammunition.
● Yamagami's use of readily available commercial items to build this rudimentary but ultimately lethal weapon indicates that gun violence cannot be eliminated through firearms' restrictions alone.
● Some culprits may even try to imitate the assailant, making their own homemade weapons to commit what is known as a 'copycat' crime.
● The shapes and dimensions of security threats posed to the
leaders around the world have changed considerably. Addressing the diverse security threats requires the development of a more comprehensive and logically consistent understanding of security.

In a surprising turn of events, Palestinian group Hamas initiated a massive attack on Israel today, resulting in the deaths of at least 600 Israelis and the abduction of dozens of security forces. More than 2000 Israelis have been reportedly injured. Israel has responded with air and ground strikes, leading to the loss of nearly 370 Palestinian lives and injuring thousands in the Gaza Strip.
The surprise attack began early in the morning with thousands of rockets fired from Gaza, some bypassing Israel's Iron Dome defense system. Hamas fighters used various means, including vehicles, boats, and motorized paragliders, to breach Gaza's security barrier and attack Israeli towns and military posts.
This marks one of the most significant escalations of violence between Israel and Hamas in recent years, with the situation rapidly evolving.
