Before 2013 few people paid attention to Bitcoin and blockchain, yet even back in the 1990s a vibrant group of prioneers pursued the vision of financial cryptography and digital cash. One of these was financial cryptographer and software developer Ian Grigg, who today works as an architecture consultant for R3.

For a long time the native asset of the Ripple network XRP was the cryptocurrency with the second biggest market cap. At the Ethereum Devcon, Microsoft unveiled the concept of 'Ethereum Blockchain as a Service' (EBaaS). These are bespoke Ethereum-like blockchains running on Microsoft's cloud Azure. The service was developed in partnership with a startup called BlockApps.
Here, I catch up with two co-founders of BlockApps, Victor Wong and Kieren James-Lubin, to find out answers to questions such as:

From BitShares to his central role during the inception of Ethereum Charles Hoskinson has continually influenced key projects in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.
